goose
So, Justin Thomas edges out Spieth for the FedEx Cup with a second place finish. Xander Schauffle gets the tourney win, which probably would have paid pretty well as a bet.

Kisner hit it all over the ballpark and still shot 70 so I gotta give him some props for hanging in. Casey is apparently just a choker and just can't get it done. Seems an excellent player otherwise and a nice bloke...
goose
So, Justin Thomas edges out Spieth for the FedEx Cup with a second place finish. Kisner hit it all over the ballpark and still shot 70 so I gotta give him some props for hanging in. Casey is apparently just a choker and just can't get it done. Seems an excellent player otherwise and a nice bloke...I didn't see the finish. What happened to Casey down the stretch? ETA: Found this bit... Having looked so confident in his first 54 holes, this was his worst score of the week by seven shots. When he needed it, Casey just could not produce and his expression afterwards said it all. He declined to talk afterwards, rushing off. To be fair, there was so much riding on this result. Not only had Casey not won in eight years on the PGA Tour, and for four seasons anywhere, but there was the little matter of £8.5m in his sights. It will surely be of no comfort to know that Thomas would have denied him collecting the FedEx bonus even if he had won. Casey was plainly desperate for this trophy.Alas, he bogeyed two of the first five to surrender his advantage and another followed on the ninth. The former world No 3 was still in touch at that point and even had a sniff with four to go. But he ensured his woe by pushing his tee-shot into the water on the par-three 15th. There was a danger Casey would be the only player in the field not to birdie a hole all day, but he made a four up the par-five 18th. Again, no solace whatsoever. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/golf/2017/09/24/justin-thomas-wins-fedex-cup-paul-casey-falters-tour-championship/ Edited September 27, 2017 by goose
goose
Just saw Scauffele's humorous final putt, which almost rimmed out. It was hilarious before the next group could putt they called an official in to fix some damage to the cup. They were joking because it was right in the spot were Schauffele's final putt hit the inside left of the hole...lol

Laurabw
I volunteered at the Presidents cup for a couple of days. Got to see the three presidents at the opening ceremony and then all the players quite close up as they exited the hole I was marshaling at. Got high fives from Phil and DJ ,whoop!

Fowler might be the best putter I've ever seen and I've seen them all and I thought this before yesterday. He makes 10 footers like I make 1 footers. Amazing short game in general. Hate to bring it up but Eldrick looked pretty darn healthy and was driving it as long and as accurate as he did in his prime. That is all (for now). Stay tuned....
goose
Tiger at 25:1 to win this weekend at the Framers. 7th best odds in the field. Seems like 25:1 is fair odds he'll make the cut.
Laurabw
Ugh. I can’t stand him. Not that I don’t appreciate his talent but I’ve never liked him, even long before all of his shenanigans.

Seems like 25:1 is fair odds he'll make the cut.I honestly don't expect much but I am stoked to watch. This feels different than last year in a good way. It will be interesting to see how he's swinging it under the gun. Last year the swing looked bad as if he was manipulating the club and trying to save every shot in some way or another. If he can play, 2018 promises to be a year for the ages on the tour... Edited January 25, 2018 by Narps
Principled Man
Ugh. I can’t stand him. Not that I don’t appreciate his talent but I’ve never liked him, even long before all of his shenanigans. I absolutely detested (and still detest) the sports media for making the entire PGA tour all about Tiger Woods. It was extremely disrespectful towards all the other golfers, especially the ones who were winning the tournaments. No exaggeration - the lead stories very rarely began with who WON. They always focused on Tiger Woods losing. Even the golfers who won, as they were receiving their trophies, were constantly asked about Tiger Woods. It made me sick.
Laurabw
I totally agree. There are so many good golfers nowadays and every time Tiger is anywhere in the vicinity they’re all forgotten.
