Are you suggesting that Neil would be a lot more personable and accepting if he were to step out of the closet ?

Hmmm....

Sort of like Tom Cruise stepping out of the closet in South Park? LOL!

I am not so sure.

I know we have to try and be PC on here about these kind of issues but I've known for decades that Pratt my be will a princess BRAT. LOL

Could you imagine if Trey Parker and Matt Stone did an episode about Neil coming out of the closet?

We all know that they are both diehard Rush fans.

Speaking sexual overtones have you ever seen the movie "Orgasmo?"

Classic.

Stone actually mentions Geddy Lee in the film.

Now that I am divorced and live alone in my house I am totally g@y.

That means HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

Just like "Happy Days" after that stupid episode!

Earl, you are the best

I actually meant that the thread has jumped the shark

Fitting, as it was heading to a fiery demise anyway

Oh Shit Lucas!

You got me man!! I thought you were referring to Fonzi's leather jacket as in the Village People and Neil's sexy leather outfit.

I think it's all relative so this thread is still intact.

Perhaps Neil should ride a Harley with Rob Halford.

I love both of these men.

Rather enjoyed that one. Especially love the fact the pic of Neil did indeed make it onto the internet.

What I think is more important than Neil spending what is, on his income, a novel amount of money for a stranger, was the fact he took the time to spend time with and get to know that stranger. Kind of throws a wrench into the whole "Neil is a d*ck" routine, yes? Maybe, just maybe, he is indeed human.

Neil treats people who don't know who he is very well. It's as soon as someone lets on that they are a fan that he panics. Edited by snowdogged

I don't blame him or any other famous person for being wary of fans in public. Whether you're Neil Peart, Jerry Seinfeld or Jennifer Lawrence, you're a target for annoying, rude, and even obsessive fans who think that they own you.

Neil Armstrong could have been the greatest "celebrity" ever. The entire WORLD was ready to treat him like a god......and drive him crazy in the process. He wisely chose to avoid the spotlight and live a private life.

I've always had the opinion that the way Neil is with fans is not his choice. I think that meeting fans makes him have panic attacks. It is quite simply a common mental illness.

Did you take that yourself? :o

"The way Neil is with his fans is not his choice"? I think even Peart would disagree with you. He's the most calculated, meticulous, and choosy of the three. Being naturally shy and introverted is far from having a common mental illness. Has he even mentioned having a panic attack?

An extreme case is MLB pitcher Zack Greinke. He has had to take medication for his "disorder". He does not fare well in public, especially when people recognize him and give him such unwanted attention. He is not a "people person" when he's out in public.

Judging by his stories, I'd say that Neil Peart is nothing like Greinke. He's just shy and gets uncomfortable when people/fans give unwanted attention to him.
