Great Artists Keeping Music Alive For Us!

So, we all have different tastes. But we hear so much about music dying, so let's just list the bands/artists that keep music ALIVE for us!

They have to still be active.

They can be any age, but must have had a studio album released within the last ten years, plus touring.

We have had so much sadness this past month with two major deaths, so let's keep this positive and praise what WE think is keeping our ears fresh to new sounds.

No arguing about tastes please, just celebrate what you love, whether it be Taylor Swift or Cult Of Luna.

Sharing is caring!

Let's be POSITIVE for the future of our music!

Every single one of these bands have released something in the last several years, whether it be just a song, a concert DVD, a gig, or a whole album, that has blown me away.

It won't drop off, Mick! I can attest to that. :codger:

And so can my step father, who has been playing guitar for 65 years, and listens to music every day!

Very much appreciate the positive vibes, Segue!

Tedeschi Trucks Band is one that people around here may not think of. Taking a century-old art form (the blues) and making it fresh and exciting, show after show after show.

Khoma, and the song is One Of Us Must Hang

This band literally were my favourite band alongside Lacuna Coil for several years. They have fallen off my radar a bit, but I still adore them:

Maroon 5.

Harmless catchy pop.........haters bite me, lol

Mick

I don't know if this will seem like a ringing endorsement, but my almost 12-year old son loves them.

And his favourite Rush songs are YYZ and Freewill!

This one sounds almost like old Motown:

And this is a torrid blues:

Love the TTB! Last time they were in Harrisburg I had a massive flu (story of my life) and gave the tickets to the guy that cuts my hair. I was happy/unhappy to hear- "Thanks again! It was a fantastic show! Didn't know what to expect!" yay/ sigh . . .

Plenty of good stuff happening imo.

Old and new bands still releasing some quality

The world of metal is breaking new barriers.

Although the last album was a let down , the sword is awesome

A non metal band that i consider pure genius is god is an astronaut. They are instrumental but strongly feel that would be loved by this forum. I dunno maybe no one likes them here.

Scar symmetry last album was a winner in my book.

I'm over 50 and music is still a HUGE force in my life, as it has been since I was a pre-teen.

And to all the people who think that you need to start listening to mellow music as you get older: :moon:
