Heard some samples on iTunes and thought I would give the album a spin. I never dug this type of music at all. Italian Gothic Metal. Not a fan of the male voice. But it has its purpose. The girl sounds very good. Drums sound like a machine. It works but maybe they should have a real drummer who can play the notes in real time instead of pro tool it. Bass drum at least. Will give their other records a spin. But if it doesn't sound like Delierum will pass If you like this album I recommend Dark Adrenaline and Comalies. Especially Comalies. I would definitely go with Comalies next if you like Delirium. Save Drark Adrenaline for after you've heard the really good stuff from them. Lol. You do realise you are an exception when it comes to Dark Adrenaline. It's one of their best albums. Am I? I would rank it second to last. Their first three albums, BCH and Delirium are just too good for DA to get any higher with me. I would rank Delirium second to last and Delirium fifth. But yeah, DA is really loved by the fanbase. Biggest disappointment for me is Downfall. I feel that as a song, it pales in comparison to the likes of older slower numbers, especially coming after an album that had both Cybersleep and One Cold Day. Something about the chorus and also Andrea's parts feel a little uneven, and altogether, as much as I want to love it as a whole, only Myles Kennedy's solo stands out. I think based on the songs above this album is easily am 8/10 for me. Much like Shallow Life, this album is saved by the bonus tracks. I am fairly certain that taken as a whole, Shallow Life is stronger song for song but Delirium has higher highs for me. But yes, Downfall is oddly enough, alongside My Demons and Claustrophobia, one of the more unmemorable moments in the bands entire discography. Broken Things and You Love Me 'Cause I Hate You are two songs that I actually really like. But they fall into the same category as songs like The Prophet Said, Fire, Infection, and The Pain where I see them only as really good padding. My tracklist for the PERFECT Delirium would be: House Of ShameBleed The PainDeliriumBlood Sweat TearsTake Me HomeBreakdownGhost In The MistUltima RatioLive To Tell The rest of the album I would have gladly taken as B-Sides. And yes, I am aware that Downfall is a favourite, but as with Wide Awake from Shallow Life, I find it to be one of the most overrated fan favourites ever.
