How much have you spent on this band?

This seems like a question for Zumbi.....

For me, probably around $500. I have all the studio albums and most of the live stuff (CD and Blu Ray).

I also have a framed poster of the band playing live circa 1978

double necks, mirrored drum riser, Peart with sticks poised in the air, and someone giving the peace sign (or possibly the devil's horns sign) in the front row?

Right on the money :)

I gotta say . . . like everyone else I guess . . . well worth it. Kept me out of trouble and got me hooked on playing guitar and bass. That in itself can't be paid back.

Right on. :goodone:

Vinyls, CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, MFSL CDs, Japanese SHM CDs and LPs, some T-shirts....

But the bigger part is travelling to the gigs: just two gigs in my hometown in Italy and the other six shows always connected to flights.

MSG will be my second 'pond' crossing for Rush and Italian health service still refuses to cover some costs for this much needed therapy of mine.

Add to the package some days staying in NYC to buy my wife off....

And health service don't even acknowledge madness!

Haha. Eek, These are pretty reasonable sums.

My Rush tour poster collection alone? At least 1k.

Albums (vinyl, 180 gm vinyl, cassette, CD, remastered CDs, gold CDs) Another 1k.

Various show tees over the years? Another 1500.

Concert tickets were cheap in the old days. But since SnA in 2007? Hmm. At least 7-8k

So yeah, that's about 10k and change.

Gosh, that seems excessive.

I stopped getting shitty seats when I turned 40. Now I can't go back to nosebleeds or the lawn. That said, there's only two outfits I'll pony up serious dough to be up front for, and Rush is one of 'em.

Great question,

R40 alone, (going all out for the magnitude tour!)

4 shows, tickets ranging from $150 to $400, total say $1100

R40 Merchandise so far, for me, gifts for brother and daughter, $250

R40 travel costs,

2 hotels, $300

900 miles driving to VA and Philly, $500

2 train trips to NY and NJ, $70

Some other costs in the past,

TMT train to Syracuse, hotel, 8th row tix, $500 total.

27 concerts before R40. At least half prime mover seats. $2,700??

(VT started paying more prime prices, started seeing 2,3 per tour back then)

Every studio album. Every live album up to DS, then every DVD or Blu ray since RIR, $500 ?

But we will not count the cost.

.

Not nearly as much as I would have if I had started to get into the band waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the late 80's when one of my team mates asked me if I wanted to go see the band with her and I said I only new about two songs and she wouldn't have had a good time going with me, so like a big duh, I didn't go.

Live and learn

I think a lot of us would have gone to more shows over the years if we had known what we know now. Who would've ever guessed they would still be touring for 40+ years.
