Inkanta
QUOTE (DonnaWanna @ Aug 28 2006, 04:33 PM) Yep..................SHE'S BLONDE! As a parent of blonde daughters (and a blonde herself, usually, ha ha), it took about a year to convince them that they weren't stupid. They thought that doing well in school was just a fluke, and that any year, their dumbness would emerge. There was one point in elementary school that lots of kids, including their burnette sister, told them blonde jokes and seemed to incessantly pick on them about their hair color. The Blonde Ones would say things, like, "Well, what do you expect? I'm blonde," if they didn't do as well as they could on something. As they've gotten older, they understand that phenotypic characteristics have no bearing on intelligence...that hair color is just one more aspect of diversity, but I was really worried there for awhile, that they would internalize it. By the way, are there any vegetarians here?
chaotica
QUOTE (DonnaWanna @ Aug 28 2006, 05:33 PM) Try on some new cooker one year PREGNANT TURKEY STORY One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed to get something from the store. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in! and pulled out the little bird. With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this horrifying ne ws, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs! Yep..................SHE'S BLONDE! CeeJ
It's that time again. I went to the store this morning to get all the things I need for Thanksgiving. I have about 1/2 hour til the PUMPKIN PIE comes out of the oven and the APPLE PIE goes in. The house smells so good this time of year. I missed all of this last year but I'm sure that NECRO will love it when he gets home. Anyway... I bake PUMPKIN and APPLE PIES. Does anyone have a different recipe I could add this year? I am up for something new. Thanks.

Tomorrow, I'll be baking pumpkin and apple pie, too. Also, I make this once a year. It's a pasta salad. Also will make this tomorrow. 1 cup light mayonnaise 1 teaspoon seasoned salt 1/2 teaspoon celery seed 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste 1/2 teaspoon pepper 2 tablespoons brown spicy mustard 3 ribs celery, chopped 3 large tomatoes, diced 1 bunch green onions, chopped 1 pound cooked shrimp 16 ounces shell macaroni Combine mayonnaise, seasonings, and mustard, in a large bowl. Mix well. Add celery, tomatoes and green onions. Mix well. Add shrimp and macaroni. Mix well. Refrigerate about 2 hours before serving. It's yummy

Too bad she can't make pies worth a squat. JUST KIDDING!!! She "forced" me to have a slice of apple pie right after work. It was so good. I can't wait for the pumpkin, but I will until Thursday.
