Lorraine, here's my favorite

Maybe it's just me, my memories and experiences, but all this early Bon Jovi stuff is very very 80s NJ

You remember The Fountain Casino ??

When Runaway came out, I was dating my first girlfriend - she was from Bayonne .... The vibe of Runaway is so Bayonne circa 1982-83

There's a NJ bond here

Lucas, I keep forgetting you are my NJ brother. You have to have had grown up in the area to know what it was like. An interesting thing was when I was watching a Bruce Springsteen documentary yesterday from 1987 - every one - including him - from the E Street Band had "the accent" I could never hear until now. And I wondered if I still sounded like that even though I've been out here 25 years.

Bruce has "the accent." Jon does not. Bruce was raised close enough to the metro area to acquire it; Jon grew up further away and talks like everyone else in NJ outside of the metro area.

Anyway, yes. I do remember the Fountain Casino, and where I lived in Jersey City was within walking distance from the Bayonne City Line. I lived in Bayonne in the eighties.

Now I will listen to the song. :)

It seems as if everything this man has touched in life turned to gold, yet we know realistically his life can't be perfect and without problems, nor can he be.

But I will say this after having watched a documentary this morning just about him - his parents are to be commended for raising him well They always told him he could do and be anything he wanted to be or do. They always encouraged him. Being raised by parents that encourage and build up rather than criticize and tear down makes all the difference in the world to that child's life as an adult.

In case anyone is interested, this is the documentary:

I'm still not all that mad on new Kansas.

I give it a 5/10...it's really got some good stuff but it's not great.

They couldn't even be bothered to come up with their own artwork, they probably did the same thing with the songs, let's hope they're not Stephen King songs...

I still absolutely love Bon Jovi guys...

And I'm getting the new album. I just never quite get why so many bands settle for lazy artwork haha.
