Rush song covers - any good ones?

Yeah . . . I'm still wondering . . . any good ones?

(I actually kind of like that Subdivisions with the Shatner.)

That Xanadu cover created shudders. The Hemispheres . . . I gotta hand it to those guys: pretty nice job. The singer can hit the notes, he's just struggling with the articulation (some of those lines are not easy no matter what your first language is!)

Mike Portnoy and Paul Gilbert doing 2112, can't stand the voice, but it's faithful to the original

Based on your comment about the voice I was ready to cringe, but holy f**k, that guy has amazing pipes. He not only hit the notes (which Geddy can't hit any more), but he's the whole raspy thing going on and his enunciation is excellent.

Dear Rush: hire this guy for your live shows!

Nope. I got nothing. :D

Since KennyLee is too modest, here you go. Keep in mind that as good as these two videos sound, they sound MUCH. MUCH better in person. And BTW, these guys are playing tonight at JB McGinnes in New Castle, DE. Be there or be square!

Thanks to all those that posted. Some of these I had heard, others not. Regardless, I find any cover of Rush work interesting. A cover from any band on a label, live or studio, is an interesting artistic nod to our favorite band that, for decades, was shunned and, to quote Billy Corgan in the documentary, "marginalized."

Still, there's a lot of room to play with in a cover. These examples seem to cover the entire spectrum. On one end, the Anthrax' cover of "Anthem" is very cleanly done and, in many ways, very similar to the original (particularly given Joey Belladonna's range). On the other end, the Silver Sun cover of "Xanadu" is certainly intended to be that unique band's spin on the work. Each has their merits. Each has their... "meh..."

I don't know if we qualify as covers but hey, I'm reposting our videos for those who hadn't seen my band... :)
