Here's 10 I could live with...

Rush—Clockwork Angels

My favorite Rush Album—period!

Queensryche—Operation Mindcrime

A masterpiece of such superb craftsmanship

Paul Simon's Greatest Hits

Thank you Mr. Simon.

Megadeth—Rust in Peace

Dave Mustaine out did them all with this album. Skull crushing perfection.

Lyle Lovett—Step Inside This House

A double album full of melancholy, beauty, soul, and poetic majesty.

Marty Friedman—Scenes

Teaming up with Kitaro, Marty Friedman created a marvel on a dime.

Loretta Lynn w/Jack White—Van Lear Rose

Told by Nashville elites she's too old, Loretta and Jack created her best work. A monumental record, with every song done in one take.

Stevie Ray Vaughn—The Sky is Crying

Finally sober. Best. Work. Period.

Stevie Wonder—Songs in the Key of Life

"Stevie Wonder's a musical genius" —Eddie Murphy

Mackelmore—The Hie$t

Front to back frakkin' awesome

Holy shite man. No Beatles, no Pink Floyd, no Who and not even a Zep record. Strong stuff Duff!!! You guys are really modest in TN. :P

I almost put in NWA...they were close to making the cut

Rush - Moving Pictures

The Moody Blues - Seventh Sojourn

The Rolling Stones - Beggar's Banquet

Steely Dan - Aja

Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies

The Police - Synchronicity

Joe Jackson - Beat Crazy

The Doors - Soft Parade

The Who - Quadrophenia

Yes - Close To The Edge

This was tough. I know there might be a few others that I would take in lieu of the ones I have mentioned, but since I no longer have my albums, and my memory, especially when it concerns anything to do with the eighties, is pretty useless, this is the best I could do, all things considered. :)

I have to make a Rush change.

I could live the rest of my life without hearing Moving Pictures, but I couldn't live the rest of my life without ever again hearing Xanadu.

So, the Rush album I would bring with me is A Farewell To Kings.

Xanadu and the title track are the reasons that album made it on my list. That always seems to be my favorite "go to" song combo from Rush.

Someone else loves THE SOFT PARADE!

Anyone ever tell you just how beautiful your taste is??

I would pick AFTK, but I just adore Limelight. I need that song...

Rush - Clockwork Angels

Holst - The Planets

If the production were better, I could include Clockwork Angels

If I had included a classical album, it would hav ebeen either Holst's The Planets or Dvorak's New World Symphony

For me, either Holst- The Planets, but more likely to be Stravinsky- Rites Of Spring. I absolutely adore Stravinsky!

I wish I had a more eclectic list, but classic rock/alternative is my poison!

I know there are craploads of threads around here like this one but I really enjoy seeing what folks tastes are. You get 10 albums you can listen to for the rest of your days. Thats it. What and who will it be? The trick here is you can only pick one album from any band or artist. Here are my picks as difficult as it is. No. 1 is the only easy one for me.... :haz:

1. Rush All The Worlds A Stage

2. Yes Going For The One

3. UFO Strangers In The Night

4. Judas Priest Sad Wings Of Destiny

5. Scorpions In Trance

6. Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti

7. Van Halen Van Halen

8. AC/DC Let There Be Rock

9. Styx The Grand Illusion

10. Journey Infinity

There are so many recordings from these bands that I love but I could choose one. I think truthfully Yes is the hardest for me to choose from. Ask me tomorrow it it may be Tormato or Close To The Edge or a few others... :)

I would have to think long and hard about it,

But your list is awesome! Especially #1 :haz:
