By the way, I hate the St Louis Cardinals too. How about you?

I am a die-hard Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan.

I don't like the St. Louis Cardinals or the Pittsburgh Steelers.

But with this stated, I have a great respect for both franchises.

Both franchises want to win championships.

My professional teams and fellow fans seem content on just making the playoffs.

(I have been a UK Wildcats basketball fan and an Ohio State Buckeyes football fan since the early 70s)

Respect and hate are not mutually exclusive (IMO).

Do I respect the Cardinals? Hell, yes...where do they keep coming up with these quality arms? For that matter, how do you go a whole season (2013) with that type of clutch hitting performance? But I hate them nonetheless.

I do think there's a difference, as well, between sports hate and true hate. The Cardinals are a prime example of the former. Do I want Ken Wacha to get run over by a car? Of course not. Do I want Adam Wainwright to blow out his elbow? No, not even that. But I can still hate the team and the franchise.

Yes, there is a difference. "True hate" is reserved for those who have actually caused us personal pain and suffering, and we seek personal revenge on them.

"Sports hate" is irrational, childish, and fraudulent. We cause our own pain by basing our happiness on a spectator sport, a TV show (for the vast majority of us).

I can't really disagree with this. Maybe the problem is the use of the word "hate"...I just wasn't sure what would be a better one. I don't really base my happiness at least in the short term, on my team winning a championship (though maybe it's because I don't remember what it's like), or another team losing one.

I have to say, overall this has been a fantastic tournament so far. The final two games last night were absolute wars! It's a shame they were on at the same time.

Looking forward to today's battles...

If I understand your coding, I think Arizona lost ATS (since they won by 6) but UT won ATS (they lost by only 2). Did Stauskas have the Vols (with the intentional miss on the last FT)?

Well, Florida sputtered at the end (losing three straight in the Elite Eight will do that) but they finally made it over the hump into the Final Four.

Great season for the Dayton Flyers ends up one game short...

Arizona has disrupted the Wisconsin offense more than anyone has all year by far. But they're only up three. They have a short rotation...will they tire? If so, they could be in trouble. I like Arizona's chances more but they have the fight of the year on their hands in the second half.

Go Wildcats.....

It's a freakin' slugfest..... :o

That was one whale of a game!

If there was any other name across Kentucky's chest, America would fall in love with these youngings.

But.....

Go Wildcats!

Harrison's 3-pointer at the end is going down in UK History.......WOW..... :o

Amazing effort by UConn in every aspect destroys Florida! That was a clinic.

Amazing how the shittiest basketball conference got 2 of their 3 teams into the final 4. When we beat Kentucky, we must've woke up a sleeping giant.

You are mistaken. There are no ACC teams left.
