Another tease of an Anniversary Tour.....41st or 42nd Anniversary tour???

I look forward to the '41st Anniversary Tour'. I think it be so funny with a title like that, fitting in with their sense of humour, and let's face it the chances of a 40th anniversary tour are looking pretty slim now timing wise especially as they've said they're taking a long break after this tour. I know I'm stating the obvious when they do come back they'll be a little bit older too, which is a concern after reading about all the routines, exercise and sacrifices they go through I order to be fit enough to go on the road.

As said.....I think we should feel fortunate anytime they hit the stage beyond the end of the tour on August 4....

I wonder how they will balance their love of playing live shows with the deeper personal sacrifices that they will make as they continue to get older....

At some point the physical nature of playing long concerts is going to catch up with them no matter how in shape they are or how well they take care of themselves....

The fact that 60-year-old Neil is currently doing what he does on stage is incredible to me....will a 67-year-old Neil be able to pull it off seven years from now? one can hope, but......

That's true. But if you look back at the ASoH dvd, Neil looks like he's about to die during his solo. Sure, he nails it (of course) but it looks much more effortless these days.

His playing style now is very different, he seems all about the wrists and less about the arms. Plus the solo from ASOH looks heaps harder to play than his newer- but still great- solos now.

I know. I was just trying to point out that his style these days could lend itself to longevity...though they still would likely need to scale down the tours or have longer breaks

The Time Machine tour Sucked! MP in its entirety, big whip, they usually play 4-5 songs off that Damn album anyways. Give the fans what they want some older gems.

They played Moving Pictures in it's entirety because that's what a majority of what THE FANS WANTED. Not just you.

And the Tour Sucked! These are the same fans who want to hear Limelight. Freewill, Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Closer To the Heart, Subdivisions, Xanadu and The Trees every concert.

And what exactly is so wrong with those songs? Oh! By the way, you forgot The Spirit of Radio and 2112 Overture/Temples/ Finale! Regardless, It still leaves 16 other songs to choose from to complete the setlist.

Now that said, I think the most possible next outing for the guys would be in 2015. Not only would it be the 40th Anniversary of Fly By Night and Caress of Steel but more importantly, it will also be the 35th Anniversary of Permanent Waves. It would be nice to hear Permanent Waves in its Entirety and finally give the fans their much requested Jacob's Ladder. It would make for an intereting setlist!

:rush: :haz: :rush:

I could not agree with you more; Permanent Waves in its entirety live would be AWESOME. :goodone:

I was literally just laughing about that. haha

Not to sound to blunt, but for me, that playlist would kind of be a snoreville. Turn the Page, Show Don't Tell, Roll the Bones, New World Man, The Trees, Lock and Key, and The Weapon..I would gladly see those replaced with something that has a little more punch to it. I mean, The Trees is good but I'd rather see something like Freeze or One Little Victory. I would love to see Vapor Trails (song) sometime! I feel that would be a great song for them to play. I understand where they're coming from not really wanting to go back to the album, though. Guess we'll just see what happens!

I understand your point, but for me, I always try to be somewhat realistic when putting together a RUSH dream setlist, and I usually do not include tracks that they have never performed live in the set list.

Also, there are other songs that I know would just be too tough for Geddy's voice, like "A Farewell to Kings". If he could still hit those notes that one would replace "The Trees" in a heartbeat.

Plus there are 15 songs in my setlist that I've never heard live before being rather young and only seeing RUSH from the Snakes & Arrows tour onwards. (Really wish I could've been to an R30 show)

Ask yourself ! Who's really manipulating who? I was making setlist way before you decided to chime in. Now ask yourself this question, "Was I really manipulating him or was he just feeding my ego and allowing me to think that I was manipulating him? " What do you think the answer will be? It takes great intelligence to fake such stupidity! All I have to say is: Hook, line and sinker my friend! Hook, line and sinker! You're caught in the web and don't even know it.

Wow. same complaints on this site as the Rolling Stones fan sites.

When a band has longevity like Rush and The Rolling Stones there will alway be fan complaints about the band playing the "War Horses" ( Tom Sawyer for Rush, Satisfaction for the Stones, etc. ). The fact they have so many songs to choose, they'll never please everybody so they have to be happy themselves. The bands are the ones play the songs night to night, over and over.

Be thankful they are still touring and enjoy they show. :codger:

Also Rush has just put out an incredible album and after 40 years, that is amazing.

Wow. same complaints on this site as the Rolling Stones fan sites.

Yeah and Clockwork Angels isn't like other band's 40+ years albums which only contains about 1 or 2 good songs. They have 10 great tracks on it!

Clockwork Angels blows any other band's +40 yr album out of the water. 'Nuff said. We're a lucky bunch of people, for sure.

And: All I want on their By-Tor and the Snow Dog 40th Anniversary Tour is to see the full Fear series live, songs from Caress of Steel, and to have them just mash up their staples and leave those song slots for stuff we haven't heard in a while. :7up:

Can definitely see a "41st Anniversary" tour, which would be their last. Sure theyll take a full year off next year, and then do a summer 2015 tour as their triumphant swan song. No new album, maybe just a couple of itunes singles. Edited by greg2112

No I haven't! Please read again. I said 10 Great tracks on Clockwork Angels. Not 10 Tracks Clockwork Angels had . I know the English language can be difficult at times, but until I consider BU2B2 and Wish them Well as (Great Tracks). I won't revise my statement, until then sir! :bitchslap: !
