  1. It's a good read, but I'm not happy.... the UK's not been mentioned!
  2. Alex often says things that then don't come to pass. I can't think they'll be on the road until mid 2014 at the earliest...
  3. Thanks HCM....there's hope for me yet then!
  4. I'd suggest manual mode...shoot a few to see how they come out, then leave it set up with those settings, then lighting wise you should get a good balance.I've heard the Lumix range from Panasonic are good.
  5. Hemispheres. Yes, it's high vocally, but they could always tune down a tone, or two! lol
  6. Has anyone got anything signed back from the O2? I sent a CA book (along with a note for Liam Birt) which would have arrived a few days before the show (24th May), along with a SAE. I was hoping I might get it back within 3 weeks or so. Well it's been a month now, and nothing's come back so I can only assume I'm not going to get it back... booo.
  7. yes I guess it's a good point...it's the first time for those fans, even if it's the 50th time for the band. If I ever got that close to the front I'd try and come up with something funny so I could get a stick or plec, but that's not likely to happen. In the meantime
  8. At one point does a joke wear a little thin. I see people are still taking banners with 'blah' plastered all over them. It's time to come up with something else surely?
  9. It must have been in '79 when I was at a friend of a friends house and he put on 2112. I think I was hooked after about 15 seconds of that intro!! It totally blew me away.
  10. unless it's being filmed...probably not... or do one with 'Blah' on it, I'm sure that joke hasn't worn off yet
  11. I thought it would be a September release i.e. shortly after the tours finished.I can't think they're going to make us wait another 5/6 months. It looks fantastic!
  12. I blame all that soup
  13. just done it! All the best. Any chance we can see any more of your artwork.....there are some great pieces - my favourite is the sketch of Geddy - Brilliant!
  14. I'll tell you the shortest distance I've travelled.....5.7 miles last Friday to the O2 in London!
  15. I'm now back from the O2....great gig, and I was on the slope level 1, about half way along. 7/10 for the sound, bass was a little too boomy for my liking but it was a zillion times better than level 4 last time around!
  16. This is a sad thing to read. When I saw them at the O2 in London two years ago, I was on the upper level and the sound was very similar to what you describe - awful, very boomy and very difficult to pick out individual instruments and nuances. When Geddy played his little 'self indulgence' solo it may as well have been a toddler hitting the strings randomly with a drum stick...it was shocking. No end of people went to the customer services desk during the show to complain about it, but it would appear that these comments didn't get back to Brad Maddix at FOH because it didn't any get better as the show progressed. I'm really looking forward to the show tonight at the O2, and I do have a better ticket (level 1) but I am still concerned about it. What I don't understand is how this happens. There is a fantastic series of behind the scenes videos available on youtube that explain different aspects of the show, including some very detailed comments from Brad ( ) about setting up the PA and tuning it etc. (using pink noise, and subdivisions) - it even shows him at different points in a big arena tuning the PA….so one would assume that a. this is done at every venue and b. a note of settings is made ready for the next time Rush play at that same venue….at least as a starting point. I don’t get it at all, and its not as if the tickets are cheap either, but what do I know. No doubt at FOH it sounds superb and I guess tickets near the desk would be the best ones to get for a good sound (plus you get to see Howard do his thing on the lights) but some of us have to put up with an inferior audio experience.
  17. is it possible that a signature can change slightly depending on how much of a hurry someone is in? I know mine can change a little, and I'm not getting 100s of things to scribble on every day
  18. yes, you're right...less dates more spaced out might be the way to go.
  19. plus he'd been taking lessons post ASoH and changed his technique in many ways..re learnt...how crazy is that! A drummer of his quality learning how to play drums! Mad
  20. I look forward to the '41st Anniversary Tour'. I think it be so funny with a title like that, fitting in with their sense of humour, and let's face it the chances of a 40th anniversary tour are looking pretty slim now timing wise especially as they've said they're taking a long break after this tour. I know I'm stating the obvious when they do come back they'll be a little bit older too, which is a concern after reading about all the routines, exercise and sacrifices they go through I order to be fit enough to go on the road.
  21. I sent my CA booklet to the O" in London last week. It will be interesting to see if it comes back a. at all or b. signed!
