This album just emphasises that Queensryche's best days are long behind them. For me they haven't been really good since the 80's, though Empire is a pretty good album and Promised Land is ok but patc

No Geoff Tate's Ryche for me...

 

.... And it was roshambo, not a gut punching contest... I almost lost because I was aiming at a vastly smaller target.

I'm not getting the Taintsryche album either. It looks more like a Tate solo album to me too with numerous guest appearances, cover versions, old Ryche bonus tracks etc...

That's interesting I liked these guys right away as soon as the EP came out in 1983. Did you not like it? That and the first album are very like Maiden and Priest, maybe you should look at trying these out again. :pokercards: :hail:

Ok, let me be an old bitch once in a while and say it out loud: they all suck now. I'll listen to Mindcrime and search new music worth my time.

I can relate to that. I only marked the "Queensryche with Todd La Torre aka "Queens of the 3rd Reich" (no title yet)" option because I liked the first song they put out, but understand completely if the whole world avoids anything Queensryche releases from now on.

I heard a track-by-track preview on the Classic Metal Show podcast a few weeks ago of the itunes non-remastered clips. The album sounds like cr#p! And, only one of the 10 new songs actually has a QR vibe. The others simply sound like more Tate solo stuff.

 

Even if it didn't sound horrible, I don't know that I could, in good conscience, purchase his album. He has said for the past 10-15 years that he doesn't like metal music and dismissed the metal audience. Now, he is excited to present his "metal" album to all the fans. The dude is a total fraud! That's not even mentioning his dispicable behaviour towards his former bandmates.

 

I will wait until June to get the real 13th album from Queensryche.

I used to like these guys and actually saw them a few times between 84 and 91. Actually my favorite albums by them are Promised Land, Rage For Order and Hear in the Now Frontier. That being said, there have been a few songs in the last 15 years that have been ok to my ears. I will be buying neither of them for I think they should have packed it in after HITNF.
