I can't believe it took me 4 pages to find this one mentioned! This is my all-time favorite live album. It has been ever since I got it from the Columbia House tape club back when it came out. It sounds great. The songs are great. And, the band plays great. The version of Miami 2017 at the beginning of the album is phenomenal. I'm sure I must have posted this somewhere. I listen to this all the time, and agree that it is just about perfect. The range of material is great, and the live versions far outperform each studio track. Live Captain Jack is amazing! Yes.! But, I like the studio Ballad of Billy The Kid a hair more than the live version, but that's the one exception from me. Live Captain Jack is so good that it actually killed the studio version - I can't listen to it anymore. I actually prefer the SitA version of Billy The Kid better mainly because of the energy of Liberty's drumming. That can pretty much be said for the entire album.

I love Page's playing. But, especially towards the end, he could definitely be sloppy. "Hot Dog" played live is a perfect example. Listening to the guitar solo of that song, which definitely doesn't sound easy to begin with, can sound really bad depending on which night's bootleg you're listening to. I'd still kill to be able to say I saw them back in the day. I used to get pissed when I'd hear that Plant didn't want to get back together with the boys. But, the more you think about it, he simply wouldn't be able to pull it off anymore. It's probably better this way. There's nothing worse than seeing an aging rock band trying to recapture what once was and failing miserably.

KISS Alive! is up there, too (regardless of what was touched up or not). I got it at a garage sale back in '80-81 when I was 7 or 8 years old for $2.50. It even still had the booklet. I listened to this on my turntable for hours!

So, I was wondering if there is anyone out there watching this show. I feel they're doing a really good jub of making an un-super hero super hero show that someone who doesn't read comic books can enjoy. My wife doesn't do comic books and she loves the show. I suppose seeing Amwell's abs every show helps in that department. But, while it has some Smallville-type elements to attract the younger crowd, the grittiness of is should appeal to fans of super hero movies like Nolan's Batman flicks. For me, as a comics fan, I also love the little DC nuggets they throw in on a fairly regular basis. It adds another fun element to the show. Last night, I was able to catch up with the first 3 episodes of this second season. Good stuff! Anyone else?

It's only 4-5 episodes into the season! It takes a while to develop things - new character dynamics, new "threat", etc. If I stuck out Season 2, I'm certainly sticking with this season. I've actually been pretty happy with it so far. Not a whole lot of action yet. But, we all know that'll change at some point, right?!?

Definitely not my favorite season so far. But, they haven't really disappointed yet. I'll stick around and wait for the fireworks to go off. The show has been good for a couple mind-blowing events each season. And, since there hasn't really been one yet, I'm not going anywhere.

Over the weekend, we watched Return Of The Jedi on Blu-Ray with our 6-year-old daughter. Next up are the weak-ass prequels. Meesa no likey.

Cher - Believe - This song is my first encounter with the evil auto-tune. This God-awful song would be played through the building speaker system at work a minimum of 3 times a day. And, it went on for well over two years straight, which is just another reason why Top 40 radio sucks. Warren Zevon - Werewolves in London - Ah OOOOO! Need I say more?!? Meat Loaf - Paradise By The Dashboard Lights -or- I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) - Curse you, Jim Steinman!! Any Jimmy Buffet. Although, if a gun was put to my head, I'd say "Margaritaville". I heard his awful music at every party I was at in college (except those threw at our place). The Doors. Once again, gun to my head, "Light My Fire". I can't stand their cheesy organ sound. And, I've always thought Jim Morrison to be way overrated as a lyricist. The dude wasn't a spiritual genius. He was always high.

Queen - We Will Rock You/ We Are The Champions Each of these songs cannot be played without the other. Otherwise, it's just weird. Much like the afore-mentioned Heartbreaker/ Living Loving Maid mix. I once heard Heartbreaker on the radio played by itself. It just felt incomplete.

Personally, I've avoided listening to the single or seeking out any music from the new album. Just a little less than 3 weeks left. Then, all will be revealed. I can't wait for the new album. Hopefully the "Evening with" format from the upcoming European shows will spill over to the US tour. It'd be nice to have 3 hours of DT in concert again and not have to sit through a Trivium or whoever else the label is trying to push on a new audience. Was 'Train Of Thought' the last time they used that format?

Yeah. Pretty cool stuff. Heard Steve Vai mention them on Eddie Trunk's radio show last year when he asked if there was anyone new he liked. Figured I'd check them out.
