It's very interesting how we hear different things - to me, Signals is a beautifully rich mix, for example. The Weapon is the kind of song that takes me away - it's almost a hallucinatory thing, without the chemicals. Hemispheres, same thing - especially with headphones. In the right frame of mind, Hemispheres is mesmerising. But I don't find it half as rewarding as, say, 2112, AFTK or CoS. x1yyz Posted July 26, 2014 Share Posted July 26, 2014 1) Permanent Waves - The first Rush album I ever heard1) A Farewell to Kings - I can't say anything bad about this, plus it has the first part of one of my favourite songs3) Clockwork Angels - Their best album since the early 80s3) Hemispheres - More complete goodness, and the second part of one of my favourite songs 5) Moving Pictures - An album of 5-star songs, with the exception of Tom Sawyer, which I don't care for6) 2112 - Their defining album with an exceptional title track7) Vapor Trails - I like every song on here8) Signals - Some great tracks, but I don't like it as much now as when it was released8) Grace Under Pressure - Ditto Signals10) Counterparts - A return to guitar power11) Caress of Steel - It's all starting to come together12) Fly By Night - Now we're starting to see the Rush we know & love, but they're not quite there yet13) Power Windows - A couple great tracks that I never liked until seeing them live last tour14) Test for Echo - A semi-flop compared to the albums that came before & after15) Snakes & Arrows - Very mediocre in the 16) Presto - 17) Roll The Bones - The title track needs to die in a fire18) Rush - I'm not much of a fan of this sort of music19) Hold Your Fire - Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This would be minuscule even if we had 2000 members post in this thread, so it's not really a surprise. Even weighting the albums based on average opinion, there is practically no chance that, with the number of people who have posted in this thread, any two would agree 100%. Uh, ok.He's right, but you should be able to throw out any combination that puts Presto or S&A above Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, or even MP so that reduces the odds considerably (though not nearly enough to make a perfect match likely.)
