Tombstone Mountain
After conducting research the results are in--Clockwork Angels is the band's most critically acclaimed album and deemed an instant classic. Rush is on a major hot streak and the Grammy's are coming up. Which song will get the Grammy nod for Best Metal Performance? CygnusGal
Rush? Grammy? I wish it weren't so, but it is what it is. Would love to be surprised though. This is the same organization that called Jethro Tull the "Best Heavy Metal Band" (over Metallica in 1989 or 1990, iirc). Hope you're right and they do get nominated, TM. It's the optimist in me. canadianice
I think George Noory, covering Elvis, has a better chance.

goose
QUOTE (CygnusGal @ Aug 3 2012, 01:14 PM) Rush? Grammy? I wish it weren't so, but it is what it is. Would love to be surprised though. This is the same organization that called Jethro Tull the "Best Heavy Metal Band" (over Metallica in 1989 or 1990, iirc). It was the first ever Heavy Metal Grammy awarded, the year was1989, and the band was surprised (no member attended the ceremony!) and embarrased. Three years later, in 1992, when Metallica finally won the Grammy in the category, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich joked, "First thing we're going to do is thank Jethro Tull for not putting out an album this year." Tull took out this advert when they won, as a joke: http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg293/goose_trf/tullflute.jpg
