Just went to J&R Music World in NYC today and picked up the Legacy Edition of Opeth's Blackwater Park and surprisingly, they had Steven Wilson's Grace for Drowning on vinyl there as well so I picked it up to save money from getting it from the UK. They had Porcupine Tree's Voyage 34 on vinyl as well but I didn't have enough money left so I'm saving that one for another time.

O.S.I. - "Fire Make Thunder"

Oh! I forgot about that. How is it? I love all the OSI released so far.

It hasn't made much of an impression on me yet. I can't see me ever loving it as much as their debut album but who knows... The albums that seem to become my favourites are usually the one's that take a fair while for me to get into.

Porcupine Tree - The Sky Moves Sideways (2012 KScope vinyl reissue, albiet with the gatefold having a slight rip at the top already when it was in the seal, but that doesn't matter to me too much as long as the vinyl's in perfect shape)

I think this is the best version of the album I heard, and it's way better than the CD which I thought was too compressed and very trebly. This new vinyl version sounds better to my ears due to Steven's "anti-loudness remaster. The snare drum and bass sound like the have more punch in this version as well.

For Record Store Day, the vinyls I picked up were all current/former RSD releases....

Dream Theater: Metropolis Pt.2: Scenes From A Memory

Steven Wilson: Catalogue/Preserve/Amass

I also picked up Individual Thought Patterns by Death on CD. I haven't listened to too much of them, but I decided to pick it up because I've been wanting to give this band a try for quite awhile. For the fans of Death, how does this stack up among their discography?

Got a good haul at the local used music store. 1022.gif

Eloy - Power and the Passion

Styx - Paradise Theatre

Yes - Beyond and Before BBC 1969-1970 (Gold CDs and poster!)

They had 5 (!) Eloy albums, but I wasn't sure which other one to get... will go back later this week, hopefully they're still there.

If you haven't yet, pick up all The White Stripes, pretty much essential.

And Renegade Creation's - Bullet is on the way...

Plus I'm waiting for this obscure cock rock band's album to be released. The band is called CRUSH and the name of the album is Cock Rock Angels... cool10.gif
