How come all I ever see is swimming and gymnastics? Oh and volleyball..

Women rule the world. tongue.gif And as far as volleyball goes, USA beating Brazil was a major event. Let's see if the old farts have enough to repeat as champions...

Some of the tickets are given to Olympic officials from different countries that don't even bother to show up. Sad...

It's been a pretty big scandal. Loads of tix given away to big donors going unused. They've been tryong to give them away at the last minute to schools.

Knockdowns are exceedingly rare in Olympic boxing. Japan's Satoshi Shimizu knocked down Azerbaijan's Magomed Abdulhamidov five times in the third and final round of their bantamweight bout yesterday. And yet, the judges scored the round in favor of the one who spent more time on the canvas than on his feet.

Can't wait for taekwondo to start.

My dad is my coach and I'm also training under another coach who trained alongside Steven Lopez, the Olympian from the USA who does Taekwondo. I'm 18 now, and training viciously in the morning and at night, but I would never be as good as those guys.

Maybe it doesn't look like much to you guys but Taekwondo is ridiculously intense.

I would love to win a national tournament. I won 2nd place in New Orleans nationals when I was 12, but haven't trained much since then, and just now i'm getting back into it. I want to take that first place now that I' m 18 biggrin.gif

US men's VB team goes down to Russia.

It looked like an easy win for the US, winning the first two sets. It just goes to show, this tournament is wide open.
