Only a few more days left. common001.gif I hear James Bond himself (Daniel Craig) is going to land at the stadium in a helicopter to start the opening ceremony. cool.gif The whole spectacle is to be based on a Shakespeare play "The Tempest." Can't wait for the Games to begin! 1287.gif

I'll be watching... Go, Canada, Go!
I like the sports where the outcome is decided by time, not judges.
Rumor has it the Who and Spice Girls will be in the closing ceremonies...

I agree about the judges. I'm hoping there won't be too many mistakes made by them because I'm looking forward to a good volleyball tournament. dazed025.gif 653.gif dazed025.gif

After the UK media's coverage of the 2010 Olympics, I and a lot of other Vancouverites would just like to say that these are definitely going to be the worst Olympics ever yes.gif

I think it's all about the TV coverage in your own country. The last few times, NBC has done a good job. And then there's the internet...

I'm more referring to the editorializing...for whatever reason, the British papers devoted a lot of ink to trashing the Vancouver Olympics at the time. It turned into a bit of a controversy here and a lot of people haven't forgotten.

In all seriousness, I couldn't really care less about any Summer Games. Just not interested in the events. But that won't stop me from taking a few childish jabs at much-deserving targets wink.gif

I think the problem was the British not caring about the Winter Olympics the way you don't care about the Summer Olympics. wink.gif

Maybe. I don't remember if the same vitriol was printed towards the Turin or Salt Lake Olympics.

Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the Olympics after his poor result at Wimbledon. We'll have a new champion this year...

His knee is injured, tendinitis. He'll be back for the US Open...

Meanwhile Fed is even more of the favourite now, though Djokovic and Murray have a good chance too...

First result is in. Great Britain 1 New Zealand 0 in women's soccer...

Have they started already?

huh.gif

Soccer tournament takes longer to play out (rest between games) that's why they started early.
