It's sad... It's kinda odd how today's their 15th anniversary for their third album OK Computer, and that one guy walked into Canada over the Niagara Falls on a wire last night... It's strange, really... eh.gif

Yeah, a lot of lyrics from "OK Computer" have sprung up in my head hearing about this. Pretty creepy if you ask me, but it seems the venue was rushing to have the stage set up. On top of that, the entrance time was upped from 6 PM to 5 PM. According to fans, doors to the venues on this tour have opened at 6 for W.A.S.T.E. ticket holders (or people who bought their tickets via special service from RH's site) and then later on for other attendees. Since this was all General Admission, it's strange that they would have opened the doors so early. Hell, the opening act Caribou wasn't even supposed to take the stage until 8 PM, why open the doors two hours before hand?

A similar thing happened when I went to a David Bowie concert in 2004. While we were waiting for the show to begin, one of the crew members fell to his death from the scaffolding. Naturally they cancelled the show. I felt horrible for the guy. Aside from that I was really disappointed because I knew that it might be the last time Bowie went on tour. So I booked a trip to NYC and saw him Scranton, PA.

Somethin' ain't right with all these stage collapses...

Theres more to the story here than the coppers are saying.

Back in the day, there was never any of this stuff goin' on.

What do the authorities know that we don't??? That's the question.

The drum tech was the person killed. It's a real shame, whether you like the band or not. Bad for the concert industry as a whole.

Concerts are "flying" more gear than ever, which is not a big deal when playing an arena, but on outdoor stages the rigging is dependant on ever single piece.
