GeminiRising79
A decent number of rock bands (elo, Styx, Foreigner, Rod Stewart, etc.) incorporated the popular disco bassline into some of their songs, as it was tremendously popular back in the day. Would Rush have killed themselves/their reputation for doing something this terrible? Imagine 2112 or Hemispheres with an ascending disco bass. We're they ever guilty of considering doing this? metaldad
They should have done it on 2112 , the way they dressed fit the part
Pound of Obscure
It was the end of Styx, the end of Foreigner, the end of Kiss as a serious rock band. Roboto, I Was Made For Loving You, whatever Foreigner did. If you're a rock band and you make dance music, its over.

circumstantial tree
The Weapon has a disco beat to it. What's funny is that disco was long gone when they did that song.

They are pop, they just did their stuff before pop was pop so they got called rock. And if you talk that way about Hemispheres anymore, you and I are going to have a problem. Bernard Edwards was an awesome player, nothing really flashy but he was a master of the groove, he had that something you know, but you can't compare him with Geddy as the music styles were too far apart and they could never have swapped places! Rush is about 47x better than the stones as well Rush does not compare to the Stones. Two different kinds of music by two very different kinds of bands. Both are among the best ever with few similarities.
