You're wasting your time. biggrin.gif

Yeah, it feels that way sometimes... wink.gif

If people don't get past the fact that Dave has to save his voice now and can't do the banshee screams anymore, there's not much of a point in arguing.

I find his voice to be much better than it was in '96 on the hits album, quite honestly. I'll admit he has his strain on some of the higher stuff (the chorus to You And Your Blues, for instance, is a good example), but MOST of the time he's singing in a comfortable range and making good choices. When he's doing that he sounds remarkably like he always has. He actually sings a lot closer to his usual self than a lot of singers, including Geddy Lee, whose stylings have changed (also due to inability over the years) dramatically!

I get that DLR (also like Ged) is an acquired taste. You either like him or you don't at this point. If Fair Warning didn't make someone a fan of his, this album isn't going to do it. But that goes without saying. Still, those who think his voice is just unlistenable and yet claim to have always liked Roth are full of bologna in my mind. His "isms" are all over the place on these songs, despite his range not being as dynamic as it once was.

That, and the fact that a lot of people will listen to this record not willing to leave behind the "Eddie can't play to save his life, Dave is just a has-been etc etc" speech. I for one, am happy to be proven wrong - I never thought Eddie would be able to pull his act together and make a new record with Dave, let alone a killer of an album like this one is promising to be.

Eddie's playing better than he has in 20+ years.

Beats Workin'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtPcztZ95NU&feature=share

The guitar sounds a bit like AC/DC's Walk All Over You at first, then it changes the tempo. Sounds good!!!! Ed uses the same pedal used in the Unchained riff, parts of ...And the Cradle Will Rock and Aftershock. What was it called again, phaser, flanger, whatever...???

Yes, I took the bait and was punked by Tattoo but I do stand by my sentiment that COMPARED to their earlier work it's lame.Bait-switch-punked. Glad I was wrong. AWESOME review BTW 1022.gif

Shocker

Why? I'm a fan. I own every album besides 2 of them. I have seen them 3 times live, and I still listen to them all the time!

I have to like the new material?

Now you know how I feel about the dickhead Dream Theater haters.

If I hear a new song I like I will not lie and say I don't to get under peoples skin. Trust me. atickhum.gif
