MUCH better than Tattoo and the Stay Frosty snippet, eh?

Wolfie does a great job on The Trouble With Never as well. Now I'm not sure if the bass on this album gets so much room because he's Eddie's son or because he's a hell of a player. Mike's bass has never been in evidence like Wolfie's is in a few tracks off the new album.

I totally agree. You hear bass here for one and he gets to play around. The work on this song and others is quite proficient!

Notice, too -- such as in Outta Space (sound clips are posted) -- that like the OLD VH albums, when EVH goes into a lead break, there's no rhythm guitar under the solo, so it's just Alex and Wolfie holding it down. I like that. The music breathes that way and isn't just downing with layered guitars.

Someone post China Town for tjtull.

Now I don't know if you mean LITERALLY or FIGURATIVELY, but here's China Town anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRjrqEWz-DM

I figure he might like to hear this one if he's encouraged by Trouble With Never. (Actually I think they're ALL pretty much posted here). wink.gif

Fantastic!

I'm really stoked to hear the whole album now!

I've got Roger Waters, Rush, and Van Halen shows to go to this summer. Is this 1982 or 2012? Confused......

Yeah, I heard that one the other day. Sounds even better today. I'm feeling a lot better about the album as a whole than I was after hearing Tattoo.

Give the above clips a spin.

I did just that, sir! Now I'm wondering, will this be released on vinyl biggrin.gif

I heard Dave say no to vinyl, but yes, there is a vinyl version.

A friend of mine wrote this ode to Sammy Hagar's lyrics in response to his recent press junkets trashing VH:

Welcome to the International House of Lovecakes, Bay-bAH!!!

Verse

Baby, you're gonna get licked

Just like my eggs benedict

I'll clean your plate

I'm freshly squeezed, not from concentrate

Pre-Chorus

Ohh, my bacon is achin'

Your biscuit needs some gravy

I'll put your sunny side up

And bend you over easy

Chorus

Put your moon over my hammy

Toast n mammy jammy

It's time for Breakfast at Sammy's

OOhhh, Eddie sucks! Goo-goo-ga-joob!

Verse

If you grind my sausage

I'll butter your french toast

Let me flip your flap jacks

And cream your french roast

Pre-Chorus:

It's the early bird special

And you may think I'm awful

But my plate is turnin' blue

And my syrup's on your waffle

Chorus

Bridge

Have some tequila with your sunrise, baby..

Cabo Wabo brand

Honey, I live on the beach

And Eddie still sucks

How 'bout some Chickenfoot and waffles?

Or some Wolfgang Bratwurst..cuz that brat is the worst

Oh, our grits are as cheesy as me..

Guitar solo that sounds vaguely like Eddie

Chorus

Chorus

Banter as the song fades:

You know sweetie, plate for plate I have a better menu than Eddie's Place down the street....

They use old recipes...mine are all new...

Do I sound desperate? The food isn't as bitter as I am, baby, I swear...

Please eat here..........please.....

Somebody notice me......

red rocker.....

tequila.....

board shorts.....

beach......

f**k you Eddie.......

I'm not impressed with a single thing I have heard thus far. schla03.gif

Tick, try this one:

metaldad just posted about it on another one of the VH threads. It starts with a heavy stomp/beat, and I thought this was going to be an instrumental, Baluchiterium-styl, but it evolves to a typical Eddie rifferama. This song could just as easily be on Women And Children First. Another promising snippet, IMO.
