Ozy Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 After months of waiting, it finally arrived. I got my collection at the end of last month right after returning from the Nashville concert. I am just now getting some decent photos of it. It looks so amazing that I don't think I can get myself to select a drum for my kit. I really wanted to figure out a way to see if I could get Neil to sign the head of the TM snare. I tried called DW Drums and they pretty much blew me off. I'm going to the Phx, both LA and the Vegas concerts in a few weeks. I was hoping to maybe bring it along and see if I could get it signed. Am I smoking? http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/f4ded63a.jpg http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/b7d483b8.jpg http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/dd229056.jpg http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/8d67ce31.jpg http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/6815bf01.jpg http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/0f6ff95f.jpg http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/a1460f29.jpg http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/5de8f858.jpg http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/ozy311/Neil%20Peart%20Evolution%20Snare%20Drum%20Collection/fc763869.jpg
presto123 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Holy crap. I didn't even know about that collection. Just a couple of the snares. Are you rich? LOL That must have cost at least 4-5 grand? Very nice indeed. I don't have any snares quite that nice but I do own 7 huge kits. About 70 drums total. Including a Super Classic kit like Neil used to play. <<<<<<<<in my avatar:)
Sgt.D Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Send the head to one of those venues with SASE and you will likely get it signed, personalized as well. Awesome set! How you can even use any of them is great. The problem I've had with Neil's sig snares is wanting to preserve them and with this set I don't think I'd be able to bang on them. I use my R30 one and got rid of the rest since I didn't see myself using them. Congrats on your purchase!
metaldad Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I have seen the Time Machine snare in the store for $1,900 . Last year i saw the S&A snare in the same store for $ 1,800 . Nice to have Fu*k You money
realomind Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Holy crap...they are beautiful! In terms of getting the TM snare signed, i'd be scared to let it out of my sight, but good luck with it, I hope you get your (well, Neil's) signature.
RUSHHEAD666 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 QUOTE (Sarge @ Jun 6 2011, 02:47 AM) $7000 but very very nice Wow 7K? Incredible. Wish I could afford that collection. At least I have the R30 and the Snakes & Arrows snare.
Jaminbenb Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 For that price, you'd think Neil, John Good, Lorne, AND Larry Allen would sign them, deliver them AND set them up for you! Anyway... I was at my local drum shop the other day for some parts and saw a set sitting there...didn't want to know HOW much because I could feel the Mastercard throbbing in my back pocket, and I would LIKE to stay married! Very sweet looking set, would have trouble touching, moving, or even playing them...too pristine!!! Enjoy!
nealpert Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I know neil has become a huge sell-out but this is just preposterous I mean you could have drums from absolutly ANY company on the planet, and you choose DW? Hope you get a BJ for your 7k also
fledgehog Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 aren't they all the same drum, just with a different finish? seems like you don't really need all 4...
Rush Cocky Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 OH SNAP! Ozy, those are BEAUTIFUL! Bet they sound incredible too. Enjoy!
launchpad67a Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Nice collection man! Play them, don't keep 'em locked up.

I went back and looked at that too. They are all a little different, but not enough to justify getting all 4, IMO. They are all 6" X 14", they are all maple (2 are VLT snares, and 2 are not) The hardware ranges from gold plated to brass to nickel. But hey, if you have the money.......

Are they really the same shells? Not even different wood or plies? Wow what a waste. If i was spending that much id want a variety of snares to record with. Of course this guy will probably not even play them

No doubt man! If Neil refuses to sign him, I would sell them on ebay and never listen to Rush again and never do anything to promote them. Flush them down the toilet. I can almost guarantee you though that he won't sign them. I am sorry about that. I agree that if you paid that much money, by all means he should sign them.

Test4Eggo Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Those are the most beautiful drums I've seen. Ever.
progrush2112 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 QUOTE (Ozy @ Jun 5 2011, 11:49 PM) I really wanted to figure out a way to see if I could get Neil to sign the head of the TM snare. What I would do is mail a drumhead to the venue of your choice for Neil to sign, hope you get it mailed back to you, and then change the head yourself.
