ReRushed
Okay. It's been cold. I wanted to try whiskey again. Specifically bourbons. I went to my local liquor store and bought a bottle of Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Wow. I actually liked it. Rush Forum whiskey/whisky drinkers, help me out - what should I try next?

I'm hardly a liquor aficionado, but if you like a smooth bourbon, you should try Maker's Mark #46: http://www.proof66.c...46-bourbon.html I know Knob Creek is popular, but it seems harsh by comparison, at least to me. ReRushed
Tomorrow I'm going with either Elijah Craig or Maker's Mark. I really like the Buffalo Trace I had, so as of now, it's my benchmark.

goose
The modern barrel is 4000 years old, of Egyptian design. And today, Scotland reportedly imports 1,000,000 barrels from the US annually. Lots of good tidbits in this documentary. Makes me want to watch others on bourbon, etc.

ILSnwdog
Laphroaig, 20 year. So peaty that it tastes like novacaine.I had some of this stuff recently. http://www.laphroaig.com/images/whiskies/25yo.pngI just can't get into scotch. I couldn't believe it when my friend shared it with me, because the shit is like $400 a bottle. :o

Has anyone tried this one? Hell yes. Ardbeg for the mahfckin win. Smoky, peppery, peaty...an assault on the senses. One of my favorite tipples, though I prefer Lagavulin more.
