troutman
Sloppy Joes is the plan. Thats a good idea..What do you use for the mix?Ground beef, tomato sauce & paste, onion, garlic, worcestershire, vinegar, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, salt, pepper. There's a recipe from a cookbook for kids that I use as a base, then fiddle about from there. We ended up grilled chops last night, so it's sloppy joes tonite! Thanks, I went to the store before reading your post. Not in the mood to go back. Hopefully tomorrow I will make them. I found some interesting recipes that use BBQ sauce. I might try one of them. They were delicious...so I ate three of them! Paying for it now, though. Tums for dessert. :) Going with this tonight. http://www.myrecipes...bbq-sloppy-joes Saw this when I went to that website: http://www.myrecipes...tbrainrightrail Troutman, do you think that would taste good? The ranch and italian dressing mixes have me puzzled. Interesting, Give it a shot. It's always fun to experiment with recipes. I hope you try it. I would be curious to know how it turned out. I'm going to try it too, but not with so big of a pot roast. I only buy something around 3 pounds. Same here.

Just to let you know that I made this Tuesday in my slow cooker using this recipe. It was absolutely delicious. The meat had a good flavor and my husband, who isn't big on vegetables at all, made a comment how good the carrots were. But the pot roast itself cost me $13 - it was "on sale" :| at $4.99 a pound. JohnnyBlaze
Sushi, sashimi, sesame/sweet & sour chicken, chicken & vegetable stew. Plus, sake. Wife was pounding the sake before I even got to my 2nd cup. She's passed out now because of it and lying down in the tatami room. But I'm continuing on with the sake while TRFing a little! Sometimes we might not have beer or wine in the house but there's ALWAYS sake....and umeshu. Guaranteed. Try umeshu if you haven't already. It's a fruit liqueur. Both go very well with sushi or sashimi imho. Next month MrsBlaze & I are taking a weekend trip to our favorite hot springs and seaside spot a few hours south of here. There's a fish market down there that has all sorts of sake for sale too. Mrs. Blaze is thinking of buying so many bottles that she'd like to have them shipped to our place instead of just taking them home by hand. Sheesh! Here's a little read about a few sake myths. The Blaze bros have asked me several sake questions over the years and this read says a lot in a short amount of space: http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2011/08/debunking-five-myths-about-drinking-sake/

I usually drink my sake cold. I like fruit flavored sake at this point. The problem is that I can only find good sake at a Japanese restaurant. The liquor stores around here are pretty slim on tasty sake. I'd drink it more than beer if I could find a high quality one at the liquor store.
