TheRocinanteKid
Not fair. I want a Rickenbacker but I can't afford one and I heard if you buy a copy John Hall and the Rickenbacker Nazis come to your house and take you away to concentration camps! Angua
I've got an Ibanez GSR200 and Hartke B150 practise amp. I've only just started learning bass, but lust after a Rickenbacker 4001! There's not much call for a rock bassoon player so I'm swapping reeds for strings.
TheRocinanteKid
I'm now thinking of saving the extra cash and going for Geddy's signature Jazz but I still like the sound/look of a Rickenbacker and my high opinion of the copy has been confirmed by a guy who plays in a Rush tribute outfit... rushbass
QUOTE (TheRocinanteKid @ Feb 22 2008, 07:00 AM) I'm now thinking of saving the extra cash and going for Geddy's signature Jazz but I still like the sound/look of a Rickenbacker and my high opinion of the copy has been confirmed by a guy who plays in a Rush tribute outfit... The Geddy Lee sig Fender Jazz is a great playing / sounding bass... Actually, if the choice was between the GL Jazz and the Rick for a main bass, I would chose the GL Jazz... it is a more versatile instrument than the Rick IMHO... I don't own a Geddy Lee Jazz, but have played on them and again they are a great bass... I would own one (GL) if I didn't already own a 1962 Fender Jazz... mfratt
Nutin' too fancy...no Rickenbackers lying around at least. I've got an Ibanez GSR190, which was my first bass, and an Ibanez SR305DX Soundgear 5 String. Edited February 28, 2008 by mfratt

ofsalesmen
QUOTE (Jon @ Feb 6 2008, 06:23 PM) Jaye, some people - including me - find that one is not enough... Larks, look away now! http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/2307/jonricksqk1.jpg That 4080 is breathtaking... I saw a picture of Geddy playing one when I first started playing and my jaw dropped. It's my dream to own one in Azureglo, as soon as I have $8000 to throw away.
Jon
Assuming you can find one for sale in Azureglo. There was one in Portugal or Spain, but I don't think it's for sale at the moment. I got to the point where I didn't mind what finish it was. As it happens, I really like this Burgundy, which photographs differently every time: http://img103.imageshack.us/img103/6470/4080a40hq7.jpg Edited March 4, 2008 by Jon

Syaoran_2001
Wow, not only is it a 4080, it's a 4080/12, those are much much harder to come by than the standard 4080's. Where did you manage to find it?
