Top Ten Queen Songs

Recommended Posts

Oooooh...love this topic....gonna try and avoid any UK single releases due to their ubiquity. Great songs all, but sick of them, they've been part of my musical diet for nearly 30 years now.

Liar

It's Late

March Of The Black Queen

Machines

Dragon Attack

Sweet Lady

My Melancholy Blues

The Hero

Drowse

Jealousy

F'in love Queen, always have and recently 're-discovered' them. (read: borrowed all my sister's Queen CDs and put them on my iTunes tongue.gif )

The Prophet's Song

I Was Born To Love You

Rain Must Fall

Tear It Up

Was It All Worth It

In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited

Teo Torriatte

It's Late
Innuendo
Spread Your Wings
39
Death on Two Legs
Was It All Worth It
Dragon Attack
Long Away
Under Pressure
Sleeping On The Sidewalk

Nice to see all the love for Innuendo. cool.gif

Never got Sleeping On The Sidewalk, a lazy blues in a decade of lazy blues. But Deacon's Who Needs You, which came just before it in the running order is just lovely.

Long Away is fab.

Mainly because Queen could play 5 completely different genres perfectly tongue.gif

They could!

And as far as individual songwriting goes, you could do a top 10 on each member.

I think I Will!

Drowse

Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll

Tenement Funster

Fight From The Inside

More Of That Jazz

I'm In Love With My Car

Action This Day

Sheer Heart Attack

Rock It(Prime Jive)

Deacy:

Misfire

You're My Best Friend

Dragon Attack

Who Needs You

You And I

Need Your Loving Tonight

Back Chat

If You Can't Beat Them

Spread Your Wings

One Year Of Love

Dr Bri:

Dead On Time

The White Queen

She Makes Me

All Dead All Dead

The Prophet's Song

Sail Away Sweet Sister

Father To Son

Brighton Rock

Teo Torriate

Freddie:

The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke

Liar

Ogre Battle

The March Of The Black Queen

Lily Of The Valley

Nevermore

In The Lap Of The Gods

In The Lap Of The Gods Revisited

My Fairy King

Mad The Swine

(nothing post 74 here, could have gone on for a bit longer!)

My God, they were something else.

I'm not overly familiar with their deep cuts, so my choices might be a little too "obvious"...

(In no particular order:)

Keep Yourself Alive

Stone Cold Crazy

Hammer to Fall

It's Late

I Want It All

Now I'm Here

Tie Your Mother Down

Killer Queen

Dragon Attack (I love playing this on my bass!)

Star Fleet (Brian May solo)

It's all good!

A lot of Brian May there, he wrote I Want It All too. It's credited to the group on The Miracle, but it's a May creation.

Not much of a Queen fan, but I like some of their music. I like:

My Faerie King

Another One Bites the Dust

Body Language

Fat Bottomed Girls

Under Pressure (or is this a solo effort?)

I LOATHE Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are the Champions.

There's nothing post-Hot Space because Queen kinda fell off the face of the earth in the United States. I don't know why. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do!

Here's my Top Twelve:

Keep Yourself Alive

Now I'm Here

She Makes Me (Stormtrooper in Stilettoes)

Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to...)

You're My Best Friend

The Prophet's Song

Tie Your Mother Down

Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together)

It's Late

Jealousy

Dragon Attack

Action This Day

What can I say? I'm a rocker at heart, and May wrote their harder material.

He also wrote It's Late, Tie Your Mother Down, and Hammer to Fall. He's also credited with Dragon Attack, although I think of it as a BASS song, with that funky repeating figure taking up the whole track.

Gimme The Prize

Get Down Make Love

Brighton Rock

Tenement Funster

The Prophet's Song

One Vision

Sheer Heart Attack

Innuendo

Body Language

Who Wants To Live Forever

Nothing is wrong with Under Pressure though, it was on Hot Space. I've always considered that song a David Bowie one though, but I think it's because I'm a bigger Bowie than Queen fan.
