RUSHHEAD666
QUOTE (tick @ Jul 4 2010, 05:49 AM) This is not a thread to diss any of the set list. Its a thread to list the 5 songs you are most pumped up to hear this tour, and the 5 you could run to the bathroom for if you had to. Most pumped... 1. Presto 2. The Camera Eye 3. Marathon 4. Caravan 5. LaVillaStangiato Could miss if I have too... 1. Faithless 2. Stick It Out 3. Tom Sawyer 4. Working Them Angels 5. Limelight My pumped list is mostly because I have never heard the songs or not in a really long time. My miss list is mostly because I have heard the song 37 times or because its just one I can miss and not be upset.(if I need a piss break) Make your lists! Tickster! Your list is almost perfect for me, although I never get sick of "Limelight." I love Alex's solo too much and Neil's fill at the end. I would put "Time Stand Still" on that least list instead! Pause Rewind Replay
Pumped: Caravan BU2B Presto Witch Hunt Workin Them Angels I don't outright dislike any of the songs, nor do I plan on any bathrom runs. But if some sort of intestinal emergency should arise, these would be the least tragic times... Faithless The Camera Eye (yeah, i said it.... would love to be proved wrong) Limelight (been done to death, doesn't have the instrumental fireworks of Freewill or TS) CTTH (no jam, so what's the point?) Working Man (normally this would have me pumped, but I hear they're gutting it with the reggae crapola instead of rocking it) Edited July 5, 2010 by Pause Rewind Replay

You would blow off "Working Man?" I'm in shock! I've been waiting for a song or two off of the first album again at the end of the set for years. I will say that the reggae intro didn't really float my boat, but overall it's a great tune to end a show with. Alexisonfire

"The Camera Eye" was amazing live. I know they shortened it a tiny bit, but when I saw it live I didn't even think about it. The song is fantastic. I would be totally depressed if Neil stopped doing the drum solo. I've been playing the drums since 1979 and Neil is a big part of my influence. I guess I'm a brainwashed fool tool. Again, I saw the opening show and I am itching for August!!!! We are blessed and cursed to have our favorite band still performing at a top notch level in 2010 and they are going to tour again too! bigalfan
So, is Presto in so many "top five looking forward to seeing" lists because it hasn't been heard live in a while/ever or because you really love the song?
micgtr71
I think that it is a great setlist. I am looking forward to seeing everything, especially side 2 of MP. To be honest the least anticipated song for me is the return of Marathon. I am hoping since they have not seen it in over 20 years that it will surprise me and give me a new-found like for the song. I do remember kinda liking it back in 85 but by the time of the HYF tour I was tired of it. I hope this performance breathes new life into it for me. I guess it would be tied with Vital Signs, but how do you gauge which you want to see more? So top 5(+1) will have to do!

amish_ashaman
Top- Red Barchetta Marathon The Spirit of Radio (I never get tired of this one.) Vital Signs 2112 (I saw this on a lot of bottom 5's, but this is the song that turned me on to Rush. They could play any part of it any way they want 100 times in a row and my ass isn't going anywhere.) Bottom- Time Stand Still (one of the few Rush songs that I really don't like) Stick It Out Leave That Thing Alone Drum solo Alex's solo (I don't care much for solos. Besides, one reason they are there is for the band to take a break. If I need a break, what better time than when the band is taking theirs.) That's the best I can do for the bottom. I actually like Workin' Them Angels, I've never seen Faithless, Presto, Caravan or BU2B, and just on principle alone, I'm not walking out on anything from Grace Under Pressure on back. That music was always there for me when I needed it most---I'll always be there for it. (Seriously, I sometimes wonder if I would have made it through the teenage years without Rush.) New World Manny
QUOTE (New World Manny @ Jul 4 2010, 02:05 PM)Most pumped: 1. Camera Eye 2. La Villa 3. Presto 4. Vital Signs 5. Closer to the Heart (although the new version is not my favorite live arrangement...where's the bass jam!?!?) Least: 1. Caravan 2. Drum solo 3. Working Them Angels (I can only do 3, and that wasn't totally easy.) You know, upon further reflection regarding the show I saw in Milwaukee, I need to change the list. As much as I wanted them to bring back Closer to the Heart, a big part of that was for the jam, and with it gone, I'm just not all that excited about it. On the other hand, I have always really liked Marathon, but the version in Milwaukee made me quite grateful that they decided to bring it back. What a great tune, and they ripped it up Saturday night. To do my list over, Marathon is in the top 5, CTTH is out.
