I don't think I could pass the opportunity, but I wouldn't be all like "ZOMG YOURE THE GREATEST BASSIST EVAR I LUV RUSH!11!1". Perhaps I could discuss baseball with him? He's a lot more knowledgeable than I am about it, though, so that might not work. Basically, I'd discuss something - anything - other than Rush. laugh.gif

I would jump up and down screaming, "OMG its YOU!! It's You!!" and I would try to yank out a lock of his hair to keep so I could forever be bonded with him in some special way.

Yeah. Steal DNA... I thought of that too but on show-days at least they have quite the security escort with them believe me.

than he would think to himself, this guy's a weirdo and the first stranger to ever talk to me and not mention anything about rush. biggrin.gif

I got to harass Geddy and Alex in public once but it was after a show so a little different situation.

I did get the chance to very politely and tried-to-be-calmly approach them and say hello, thank-you, siggy if you'd be so kind, and best wishes for the future.

Don't get me wrong though if TSN did a Highlights of my Life Top Ten this would for sure be in the top 3. laugh.gif

Anyways considering I already did this once and that it is sort of "Off season" for Rush right now, I would probably smile and give thumbs up if I walked by him at a ball game but that's about it I think. Line-up for beers though or taking a piss! Different story dudes! Oh wait Geds probably has private line for that stuff. fists crying.gif

In Toronto strangers seldom give eye contact let alone speak to one another. Geddy would smell a skunk for sure.

I would leave him alone. He's there to enjoy himself, not be bothered by fans.

Now if it were Alex (and Janie would back me up on this) all bets would be off....biggrin.gif

I would most definitely try to approach Alex if I saw him out somewhere. It totally depends on the situation, of course, but I would be looking for that window of opportunity to approach him, that's for sure.

Concerning Geddy, I would try to sneak in a "hi, I'm a fan" comment real quick to him.

Geddy has been in the public eye for so long now that he has got to be used to being recognized and having fans approach him wherever he goes. I'm sure it gets annoying but at the same time, he probably knows how to deal with being approached by fans.

I would covertly sneak a picture of him to prove his attendance to a game that I was at to my friends.

No, I would at least try to make small talk to him (I'm a baseball fanatic), than just go away.

It is great that people report seeing Geddy at baseball games. But I can't help but think it must get to be a drag for him if he goes to a game and tons of people come over to where he is sitting and want to talk to him.

If you were at a baseball game and you saw him what would you do and what is the right thing to do?

I'd go up to him and start yelling "the Oracle is Neil, the oracle is Neil, man!!" while slapping the back of my head with my hand while looking distressed and sweating profusely.

I would tell him it sucks that Eddie kicked him out of the band and ask him about the next chickenfoot record . Then as he was wondering what I was talking about I would smile and hope he got the joke as now as I think about I now realize this isn't funny so carry on wub.gif

Acting like you don't know who he is would be funny. Saying things like "Hey, do you enjoy the game?, Are you from Toronto?, What's you name?" and all that small talk... cool.gif there's nothing wrong in talking a bit to the other people around you, even if they're "strangers". wink.gif

I would come sit in his lap, put my arms around him, and say, "Thanks for saving my seat."

new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif You would be my hero! LOL!!

Honestly, I love Geddy. But I could probably be sitting next to him and not even realize it was him. I can be pretty oblivious like that.

I ran into Marilyn Manson (literally, physically...my head slammed into his chest) at the court house when he was on trial in my town. And I had no idea who it was until I saw him on the news later. I even ate dinner at a restaurant at the table next to Kid Rock & Pam Anderson - who wouldn't recognize a train wreck like that? Me, that's who.

Oddly enough, when we spent our anniversary in Toronto, we were sitting next to Jackie Mason at a restaurant and I did recognize him when he stood up to leave.

So, I would probably say nothing to Geddy and would wake up at 3 am the next morning realizing it was him and then spend the rest of the day kicking myself.
