RUSHHEAD666
Just for good measure I wanted to bring this thread back to the top!! Excellent thread. Obviously I am wrong once again. You don't have to be in a prog band to use a double neck guitar. Can't win them all.

RushFanForever
PremierGuitar Magazine had an article on this awhile back: Those Daring Young Men and Their Doubleneck Guitars: A Brief History of Multi-Neck Players Eric Johnson posed with a Gibson double neck on the cover of GuitarOne magazine here. In the PremierGuitar interview with Alex Lifeson here, he gave his Gibson EDS-1275 to Eric Johnson as a gift but was later stolen by a roadie. RushFanForever
There's a Canadian musician named Jerry Doucette (known as Doucette), who's known for his 1977 hit song 'Mama Let Him Play'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehBvs6y1oHI At the time, Doucette played a Gibson EDS-1275 double neck. Other fellow Canadian double neck users (besides Alex Lifeson) include Rik Emmett of Triumph, Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar, and David Barrett of The David Barrett Trio. OldRUSHfan
Guys, I was watching this cool "LOVE" documentary last night called "Love Story." It was great. Anyway I noticed some black and white film footage of Johnny Echols playing on a double neck guitar. Who was the first guitar player to use such an incredible instrument? Was it Johnny? Who else plays the double neck besides these obvious guitar players listed below: Jimmy PageAlex LifesonSteve HoweSteve HackettSteve VaiClaudio Sanchez I'll give some more love to Geddy as well for playing the double neck bass. Incredible. Davie Allan [from Davie Allan & The Arrows] who did "Blues Theme" from the movie "The Wild Angels" I remembered that song from the first time I heard it on my Parent's FM radio in their bedroom in '66. I finally got that tune in 2011 on a compilation album of His I found. Edited September 30, 2019 by OldRUSHfan
