Necromancer
What a cool show. It started a bit slow... but you can see it's gonna pick up quick. I can't wait till the next episode. I like the whole twist on vampires being just another subculture of people who want equal rights. I can't wait to see this show really get going. Pags
It was a slow starter. I think owlswing is giving it a better score than I am. But it was good enough for me to want to find out what happens next. I'll be watching.

But it was good enough for me to want to find out what happens next. I'll be watching. I think it's gonna have to be slow for a few because of all the backstory needed for this definitely DIFFERENT take on vampires. I'm a bit flummoxed as to what the waitress chick is. I'm thinking she's some kind of Slayer and doesn't know it. That's why she was so attracted to his presence, the minute he walked in the door, and it would also explain her psychic abilities and her obviously supernatural speed, strength and adeptness at turning that chain into a weapon. Along with the way it ended and the preview... i'm thinking he's going to turn her. Which should make her some hybrid slayer/vampire. Which would be AWESOME. They alluded to what a hybrid like this might be like in Buffy a few times, but as far as I know... it never happened during the series. I think they did a book, but I never read the Buffy novels. I've not read any of the novels that this show is based on... but I think I heard it mentioned in one of the documentaries, that he uses slayers in the books. I don't know this, and my guess is PURE conjecture. I'm eagerly awaiting this Sunday's episode. CeeJ didn't like it though.

DiscipleofLerxst
That show sucked....no..it was just bad. I mean talk about a stupid concept...FRIENDLY VAMPIRES!!!!!????? Who want to be accepted into the community OMG I could really pick it to pieces with what I hated about it. But you guys like it and in some cases love it which is fine with me, I hope it runs for 20 years for your enjoyment. I thought it was stupid. Even though they are physically superior, they aren't many... so they've been persecuted and hunted for how they live. Now there's a drink that makes it so they don't have to kill. So maybe they didn't really like the killing part anyway? I don't know... it's a fresh concept about vamps. I've always liked the idea that they believe themselves to be superior to us, and that we are just cattle... but this is a neat twist. I'm gonna continue to enjoy it until it gets totally toopid. ReRushed
I tried to watch it. I couldn't make it through. But, I've read things about it that interest me. I guess, like a lot of other television series, you have to give it a chance. Let the premise establish itself, let the characters develope and let's see what we get. I'm going to give it a chance. Pags
I thought last night's episode was a bit better than the first. We're beyond the introduction of characters so we can start to settle in on the what's going on. It's going to be a slower moving story, but that's not necesarily a bad thing. And look at this way. This can be the soft porn that we're actually "allowed" to watch.
udanax
I think it has potential...but why do HBO shows always have so much unnecessary sex in them.......seriously.... I have trouble trying to get away from my little brother so I can watch it. It was the same way for Rome and Big Love too. I don't like having to make him go away when I want to tune into shows I like.

Ya_Big_Tree
I actually am liking this show so far. It did start off slowly but I like how everything is unfolding. I am also wondering why the girl can hear everyones thoughts, I wonder what kind of role she will be playing in this story later on. I do see a lot of similarities to Buffy and Blade. I just hope that it doesnt go the way of cliche, will have to watch a few more episodes to see if it does or not.

I do see a lot of similarities to Buffy and Blade. I just hope that it doesnt go the way of cliche, will have to watch a few more episodes to see if it does or not. I see NO similarities to Buffy or Blade. That's why I like it. The only possible similarity that I could possibly connect is that it's a human falling in love with a vampire. Buffy/Angel/Buffy/Spike. The show has a very unique feel to it so far. I did like the Buffy and Blade reference though, when the bartender was reading the paper about the Starbucks coming to town and he wished that Buffy or Blade... or one of them cool vampire slayers would come to town. THAT was funny shit. And what the hell is HIS deal??? Here we've been thinking he's a cool guy, and last episode ends with him sniffing the dead girls sheets and going crazy in her bed. I like how this is growing. It's still a bit slow... but they probably plan on a few seasons... so no point giving us everything right off the bat. I love the character development so far. They showed a picture of him and the girl behind the bar. It looks as though he may have had secret feelings for her as well as Sooki. Since he has such hatred and prejudice toward the vamps... would he possibly be who choked her to death? He had the key obviously and it was clear that there was no break in. I'm betting that none of the vamps are responsible for this.

GhostGirl
I'm intrigued by the show - although I haven't gotten to watch a whole ep yet. My only pet peeve at this point would be the ACCENTS. Exaggerated Southern accents drive me nuts. I don't sound like that! Right?

In the Buffy and Angel series... Angel lost his thick accent, but Spike never lost his. So I guess it could be up to the discretion of each individual vampire. OR to whoever is writing the script. Seeing that his problem was an abundance of BLOOD... wouldn't it have been far better (and more fun) to just seek out a female vampire willing to "help him out" with that???
