Holy cow, wouldja look at the guns on that guy?!  ohmy.gif  smile.gif

Whoa. I'm a devout Geddy girl and even I can't help but admire those guns. laugh.gif

My dad once said that that's the sign of a drummer: strong, muscular arms. And Neil's the greatest drummer in existance, so of course he has exceptionally strong and muscular arms. I can see why all the Neil lovers are attracted to him. tongue.gif

Your Dad is right. There's nothing like drummer muscles! I've always had a weakness for them, too. One of my former room mates was a drummer and, boy, was he something to admire... as is Pratt. cool.gif

Kahme... now you know what I see in him. ;D

(Okay, honestly, it's the talent.. and the heart...)

But a lot of percussionists really do have to be in good shape! Even think about marching percussion. A set of tenors can weigh like thirty pounds; you gotta have a really strong back and upper body to haul those around the field at 200 beats a minute. On trap set, it's all about stamina in the arms. So really... Pratt can't afford to get out of shape (lucky for us!).

Back in seventh grade I actually had a major crush on this percussionist. He was astoundingly talented, like crazy so. Of course we were all just scrawny middle-schoolers but he wasn't half-bad looking!

And I don't think it was coincidence that was around the same time I started getting into Rush.

And there's my insight as I try and attempt to avert my eyes away from the gun show above... ];3

Agreed. I was a drummer in the high school band one year (next year, I played bass guitar because...well, being in love with Geddy inspired me!!) and you HAVE to be in good shape, especially "up top" with your upper body. Takes a LOT of endurance. Drummers get a bad image sometimes, but it really does take some stamina. No doubt!!

It's so hard to get good pics of Neil when he's hidden behind that massive kit. But here are some I attempted this summer:

Yes, it's tough to get a picture of Pratt behind all the drums. But you did quite well. Thanks! biggrin.gif

I really love the backlighting on this one. The lighting feels warmer than the other one (could've just been the actual lights though). Gives him a kind of iridescent glow...

Great work. :D

Someone posted this on FaceBook and...well.... it elicited a gasp and sigh.

Those muscles!!!! wub.gif cool.gif

Oh, and do you notice the scar from the smallpox vaccine? Everyone from our generation has them. I thought it was only in the US but apparently Canada did the mass vaccination thing, too.

While this thread has less than 4,000 posts, I'm thinking a new Neil thread is needed. We don't normally make new threads until the 8,000 or so post mark, and even though this one doesn't have nearly the amount of posts as the original Geddy and Alex threads did (16,963 and 13,875, respectively), it still loads kinda slow. Must be the amount of images in here.

I shall put it to GG. wink.gif

Don't know what to call it though.

I have this one on a refrigerator magnet!
