The Owl
I did it, I finally watched Batman Begins. Holy Crap was that thing good, totally blows the Tim Burton version out of the water, and most certantly the Adam West movie!!! And I liked the Burton versions, the first film series stared sucking when Burton left the film, but still "Begins" blows Burton out of the water. Huh, huh? "Wetmore a good name for you." I thought the same thing when I first saw this one but I was a bit afraid of saying so because I thought I'd get a few "what the hell are you talking about?" or "get some glasses" posts! You will hear from countless comic-book purists (and I'd count myself among them since I grew up reading all of the different Batman titles and have recently purchased several Batman graphic novels) that Nicholson came nowhere near close to capturing the true essence of The Joker. In other words he pretty much sucked. So did the five-foot-nothing-doughy-jawlined Michael Keaton.

It's always fun to watch Nicholson ham it up, but his Joker was nothing more than an updated version of Cesar Romero's TV Joker. Burton's films took Batman more seriously than the campy TV series did, but once you see Christopher Nolan's current versions, you realize just how campy and cartoonish Burton's and Joel Schumacher's versions really are. I can't watch them now. Nolan's films have made Burton's and Schumacher's films completely irrelevant...like they never happened.

Sticklah
Dude, even though I always thought The Joker was kinda tacky he looks great in those pictures.
Alex
Jack Nicholson's version of the Joker was a bit more comedy and less scary. Tim Burton always makes his characters eery and weird. The new Joker (Ledger's) was more realistic and believable.
