Wow, I'm so excited! I can't wait for the album to come out and "Vapor Trails" is such a cool name for it. Does anyone know when it's going to be released?

It seems that some people have questions about Vapor Trails and I thought this would help. I really don't understand the sarcasm sometimes... I didn't know one had to be sarcastic to be a Rush fan also. Interesting.

Those clips were fantastic!! It's interesting to see behind the curtain, so to speak. Hearing what goes into making an album, how artists feel about it and everything else...

 

Besides, I'm not growing tired of seeing these clips of Alex (and that other guy ) people are posting here.

Translation: We're trying to promote this new record, and I'm sort of covertly acknowledging that the mastering guy shit the bed on this one and made a year's worth of hard work sound all distorted, but I can't say that now because we don't want to send our fans into a panic where they won't buy the CD. We'll wait a couple of years then talk about how we have trouble listening to this one.

I wonder what their conversations about it have been like? It sucks, in my opinion, that such a paramount recording ended up sounding so horrible when musically it's so strong. It's a damned shame.

At that point there was nothing they could do but release it, live with it, and support it. All we can hope for now is a re-master.   After months of immersing myself in S&A, I popped VT for the first time since the release of S&A and totally rediscovered it. S&A sounds clean and full and lush and punchy, and the songwriting and lyrics are great and memorable, but VT, despite the bad sound quality, just kicks your ass. And after hearing all those acoustic guitar-laden, mid-tempo S&A songs for so long, I needed a good ass-kicking, dammit!

It makes me madder than hell, too.   I've relayed this time and time again, but the main place I listen to music is in the minivan. The minivan is equipped with a six speaker Sony XPlode system with a Bazooka mounted in the back with a something or other amplifier. Anyone who happens to be sitting in the back row of the van when I put on VT gets the back of their head blown out. It doesn't matter what I do to adjust it, it's painful. On my headphones it's painful. On the house stereo... painful. All of this amazing music and it's screwed up beyond belief.     And, that's all I have to say about that.

Vapor Trails is my 2nd favorite Rush CD, and in my wildest dreams, they eventually find the masters and REMIX it! I listened to it today, and it is just great... aside from the obvious muddiness.... I love that Geddy is playing so many chords on the bass. He was also singing his ass off!!

All day long, I was trying to figure out all Alex's parts. The fact that Neil can bounce back like that, kicking the door down with the start of "One Little Victory" should be a lesson to us all!
