  1. I have recently fantasized them playing The Twilight Zone, with its ending's atmosphere shaping into The Necromancer; an instrumental version of the first two parts. Abbreviated slightly however, ending it right before the growling of By-Tor, and followed by a Neil solo. This could start out with a brief nod to Didacts And Narpets before going into whatever Neil wants to do. But yes, I visualize Alex slaying with that song. It's a classic old school Rush jam and could be accompanied by lots of "smoke" and thick green lighting.

The movies are fun, but the books blow them away. The wife and kids are in full Potter craze; reading through the series. Some are seen prancing about the house with a stick "wand", humming the theme music.
  3. Unforgiven would have been first on my list... Costner's Wyatt Earp was the best Earp IMO and would have been on my list... As would Pale Rider, Open Range, and Dances With Wolves.
  4. Power Windows rules. Enough said.
  5. I don't get the whole Potter thing. I went to see it with the family though and endured. "Ah, they're camping in the woods... again." A bit slow in places. I chuckled when I heard folks behind me sniffling during an emotional scene near the end. I so wanted to point and laugh at the screen in an obnoxious manner. Visually, the film had some really strong moments. The animated part during the story of the something-or-others was particularly nifty.
  6. QUOTE (FoxxiStarr @ Nov 7 2010, 09:12 AM) I think I trust PJ implicitly. Watching the 3 LOTR films was like he'd opened my skull up and taken out the images I had created of Middle Earth and its peoples Alan Lee really should get the credit, not Peter Jackson (in my opinion).

  8. Been watching some old clips of him on Letterman. So sad what happened. I always loved Farley.

They have little hand held devices in the movie that you can talk across the galaxy, yet the spaceship needs a satellite dish the size of Delaware? That and if you look at the size of the cockpit (giggle) compared to the rest of the Melinnium Faukkin...doesn't look like there's room to stand upright. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070217103320/starwars/images/thumb/1/1a/MillenniumFalconInterior.jpg/355px-MillenniumFalconInterior.jpg http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081001132212/starwars/images/thumb/b/b8/Falcon_egvv.jpg/598px-Falcon_egvv.jpg QUOTE (danielmclark)<star wars geek> The dish isn't a satellite dish, it's part of a military-grade sensor package. The ship is only tall enough to walk around in from the cockpit going back into the main circular mass of the ship. The front prongs aren't tall enough to walk in. If I'm not mistaken, that's where the concussion missile launchers are housed. </star wars geek> I would like to add an honorable mention. The "derelict spaceship" from the 1979 classic, Alien. http://application.denofgeek.com/images/m/75spaceships/main/derelict.jpg And an interior shot: http://www.horrorphile.net/images/alien-space-jockey.jpg It's all so ominous and mysterious.

I personally like Return Of The Jedi's score the best. I love the Empire Strikes back soundtrack and Revenge of the Sith Yes, these two as well. Sith is VASTLY UNDERRATED. Some really emotional pieces in that score. I agree. The best soundtrack of the six films.
  12. I still think Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone" is a great song off the soundtrack.
  13. QUOTE (KW84 @ Oct 19 2010, 08:34 PM) I did some searching on youtube today and found some videos from RAH. I Drive The Hearse Even Less (Full) videos from Berlin Time Flies Kneel and Disconnect Lazarus Thanks!

I hate Top Gun. Always have. Walking out of the theater I got some nasty looks for turning to my friends and exclaiming that it was crap. It was crap. Especially how the director tried to pass off Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighters as Migs. The whole screenplay lost all credibility and integrity. Ok so you have a point about them using the wrong planes to represent the Mig28... But I STILL don't get all the homoeroticisim you're talking about. There is never a point when 2 guys kiss or anything like that. The only hugging is when they survive a Dogfight and the Wingmen are back on the ground again. All I know is the film gets me HOT! But then again... gay men turn me on too... So MAYBE I'm not the best judge for homoeroticisim on this... It's all in the subtext, it's nothing overt. And it's more of a running joke than anything else... sure, there's some subtext, but people calling it the gayest non-gay film ever are taking that to a funny extreme, that's all. The volleyball scene was pretty gay though. Ya but you have to remember it was the 80s... a lot of movies made in the 80s are kinda gay now. In the 80s there was a sexual revolution where bisexuality was kinda the IN thing. So there was a lot of inuendos and things that could be misconstrued as homoeroticisim like Top Gun. Good point. Maybe Top Gun isn't so much gay as it is cheesey and lame. You guys need to be schooled on this one. Tarantino breaks it all down for ya. Top Gun is gay.
  16. The film is simply gay. The Hurt Locker had a scene too that was ridiculously gay. Yeah... we hump one another at knife-point to display our superiority.
  17. QUOTE (sullysue @ Oct 16 2010, 08:28 AM) QUOTE (tangy @ Oct 16 2010, 08:07 AM) QUOTE (tick @ Oct 16 2010, 07:56 AM) I'm listening to Stupid Dream at the moment. It seems like this album is underrated among PT fans? I thinks its great. It was my introduction to PT so maybe that has something to do with my feelings. Anybody love this one? Its a great disc. my fave from it is Stranger by the minute followed by piano lessons. pretty solid start to finish. Yeah, I think it's amazing, too. I don't think it's underrated as much as it's been pushed to the side so to speak since Deadwing, FoaBP and The Incident when their sound took that dramatic turn. Tinto Brass and Pure Narcotic are my favorites. Another huge Stupid Dream fan here. I like the pop-ish tunes. I love A Smart Kid and Baby Dream In Cellophane.
  18. I was more of an Iron Eagle fan myself.
