PuppetKing2112
I disagree with the original poster, I really cannot stand Skynrd at all, but yeah, what's with the defensiveness?
TheRocinanteKid
Good band? Debatable (But isn't every opinion on music?). Personally I don't believe they're even in the same league as Rush.

1-0-0-1-0-0-1
I was a big fan of Skynyrd back when southern rock was all the rage. Their "One More From The Road" will always be considered as one of the several classic double live albums released in the late '70s. I'm not really into them now, but every member of that band could play their asses off. All three guitarists were excellent players.
tangy
Easily one of my all time favorites and everything up to Street Surviors is excellent. Never got see them before the plane crash but have seen them three times. Not a fan of theei new music but they were good live when I saw them. Their show was pretty much a rendetion of One more from the road. Great music with equally great lyrics.
Mustard Death
QUOTE (Pags @ Mar 10 2008, 05:33 PM) Has someone mentioned that this is an anti-skynard site or something? Well, back when the site was first launched, the full title was "The Rush and F*ck Lynyrd Skynyrd Forum". But due to excessive pressure from Skynyrd fan groups, the admins were forced to reduce the title to just "The Rush Forum". Interesting story, really. The Owl
I really cannot stand Skynyrd without Ronnie Van Zant. The new incarnation just really annoys me. Classic Skynyrd on the other hand I still find very good

Actually, I recall making some Skynyrd-based jab in the politics forum and getting my sh*t jumped. So I avoid just about all southern-fried rock comments these days. Saturday Night Special's a pretty solid song.

Classic Skynyrd on the other hand I still find very good Ronnie had a great voice, I have all the Skynyrd albums old and new, his brother's okay but not a patch on Ronnie. There's some good newer stuff but I like the Ronnie albums much better.
