I grew up at the end of Connery's reign and all through the Moore era. I've seen all the movies, and I really can say that I prefer Pierce as James Bond. I don't know what else to say other than I think of him as Bond! Since I grew up with Moore in the role, I really do enjoy his portrayal as Bond, but not the way I seem to like Brosnan. Dalton (I thought he was great in 'The Living Daylights'. 'License to Kill', however, sucked monkey butt.) 4. Brosnan (He's just too pretty, dammit!) 5. Moore. 6. Niven. 7. Lazenby. ReRushed Posted August 23, 2007 Share Posted August 23, 2007 (edited) Connery - He was in the best movies, hence he's the best Bond. Craig - Yes, he's the second best, even after only one movie. Two more movies the quality of Casino Royale and he could very well move into first place. Brosnan - Goldeneye is great. The others are too over the top. Dalton - Too serious and the movies suffered for it. Moore - He's a cartoon Bond. Lanzenby - He benefited from being in one of the best Bond movies, otherwise he's too wooden. He just didn't compliment or handle the seriousness of the role. Maybe he would have grown as an actor, we'll never know. Ironically, it's a role Connery would have thrived on. Not only subtle and suave but he did an amazing job playing without emotion - a complete psychopathic killing machine to rival Michael Myers. 2. Moore. Second only to Connery, a great fit. Stylish and a real lady killer. This guy also played in many of the better Bond movies ever. 3. Dalton. I agree with Jack License to Kill sucked but Living Daylights was awesome. Not to digress but oh man the Cello chick in that movie was smoking hot. *drool*. Too bad he didn't get at least one more movie to show us what he was capable of. 4. Craig. Oh brother we get into the b-list at this point imo. Sorry I tried to watch Casino Royale twice so far on BluRay but only got about 3/4 of the way through so far. I woulda swapped Brosnan for Will Smith I thought he was so lousy so I'm happy for a change. Really gotta give the guy another chance or two see what he's really capable of. Will he turn out to be the "closet" Bond? I was speechless when the intro didn't have silhouette babes. Mr. Brocoli is rolling in his grave. 5. Brosnan. Probably a personal thing for myself but damn I couldn't stand this pretty boy as Bond. Didn't even feel like watching a British agent at all couldn't shake the American feeling off this guy. I also feel he crossed the line of the subtle seducer and instead turned Bond into a cheap dirty one liner to make Schwarzenegger blush embarrassed. 6. Lazenby. These last two would eclipsed Pierce also if only you could even remotely argue they were real Bond's. IMHO they were not. 7. Niven. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Batman Posted August 24, 2007 Share Posted August 24, 2007 For me its 1. Sean- The First and Best 2. Roger- Big Shoes to fill plus I grew up with him as Bond. But got real old towards the end 3.Pierce- This was a tough one I think his last Bond movie was his best most were as someone else said overthetop. 4.Danny- Now I had my Doubts about him but when I finally saw the flick i was blow away a few more like this one and He will take over the top spot. 5.TIMMY!!!!!!! Ok not great. Just didn't fit the part. 6.George What a Waste!! I loved both of them as Bond, but, well, I had to vote for Pierce (go ahead, guys, shoot me )...He just fit the philandering secret agent role TOO well But to put them in order according to my preference, though: 1) Brosnan 2) Connery 3) Moore 4) Lazenby 5) Craig 6) Niven 7) Dalton Not sure who Niven is Was he in the original Casino Royale?
