Although the sound wasn't too good, Khan's voice drowned in the music and had to scream sometimes! I had a great place as you can see at the pics. A great setlist with2 of my favourite numbers.. And the surprise: next week... I'm going again!!
progrush2112 Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 I'm going to see Matt Wertz play tonight Here's his website for those interested

Moonraker Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Motorhead tonight Also free Garbage tickets for me on Sunday ok., its somewhat harder to to Garbage in a room of only 100 people without looking like a wierdo, but I can still try...
thestand Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Well two last night I caught B.B. King at the Palace Theatre which was incredible. But after that, I sadly have no concerts in line until... JULY!!! But for the rest of the summer, it's looking pretty good, with 2 days of Dave Matthews, Earth Wind & Fire, (I'm being dragged to-) Meatloaf, and (I'm being dragged to-) Motley Crue. God help me for the latter two, but the first three are awesome. Oh, and they're all at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center)
Moonraker Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 (edited) It pays to be fast........ The radio station I listen to ran a promotional thing this morning, offering tickets to the Oasis/Kasabian/Jet concert in September 3 days earlier then they go on sale (this Sunday). Do to my fast fingers, I managed to score 4 FRONT ROW tickets to the thing. LOL, tell you the truth, I didnt plan on taking anyone with me, I just wanted to see if I could get extra tickets that were close. Total price to me was a little over 200, but I think I might be able to make that back now --- Moonraker's Current Concert Schedule, 2005 3/19 - Trilogy (Concord, CA) 3/24 - Nine Inch Nails (Reno, NV) 3/25 - Nine Inch Nails (Davis, CA) 4/09 - Motorhead (San Francisco, CA) 4/19 - Velvet Revolver (San Francisco, CA) 4/27 - Nine Inch Nails (San Francisco, CA) 4/28 - Nine Inch Nails (San Francisco, CA) 5/16 - Audioslave (San Francisco, CA) 6/03 - The Mars Volta (Berkeley, CA) *8/13 - Ozzfest, Black Sabbath/Iron Maiden ( Mountain View, CA) *8/06 - The Black Crows (San Francisco, CA) *9/11 - Oasis/Kasabian/Jet (Mountain View, CA) * - Newly added dates to my list. Tickets may not yet be in hand or in transaction (or even on sale), but I plan on going. Edited April 14, 2005 by Moonraker

Moonraker Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 QUOTE (esmeralda @ Apr 14 2005, 11:01 AM) Nice list Moon! As a Rammstein fan I'm going to enjoy their show for the third time! Thanks, I saw VR last year before they made it big, they really cranked it out. You could definatly tell they were on thier way to becoming as big as they are now, that was back at the beginning of thier whole touring thing which is still going on now. Would be nice though if they play some new GnR or STP songs when they come back, from what I have been reading the setlist have been pretty much the same for the last year.
esmeralda Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Thanks for the update. I'll let you know how it was.
Moonraker Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 http://www.nin.com/tour/posters/4_27-28_05_sf.jpg Oh btw, they are selling these lithographs at the show, they made different ones for each night of the tour. I bought one at Reno when I went to see them last month, had the Fresno, Reno and Davis shows listed on it. I checked on ebay, one sold for over $300. I think I might have to pick up 2 of these SF lithographs tonight Will give another full report in a couple days after my concerts are over
Moonraker Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Ok, more concerts for me. Last night I went to my first King Diamond show, very loud and very metal. It was played at the Pound in SF, which has been there for years (just I've never gone), but last night was the first night they had thier outdoor stage put together, and I got to help break it in. Openers were Black Dahlia Murder (arrived after they played), Behemoth (walking to the venue as they were on stage, I could hear the music clearly from about 500 meters back), and Nile (craziest hair on the bass player, was like a windmill). Anyway, King Diamond was definatly the main attraction, incredible theatrics with some insane concepts of the acting. I havent ever been to an Alice Cooper show, but I couldnt imagine it being much different then how this night went down. I have a few more I am gonna hit soon too. LCD Soundsystem and M.I.A. are playing at the Fillmore on the 14th, I havent heard anything by them, but I have heard their names dropped enough to peak my interest to see a show. Also BFD is coming up in June, over 20 artists will be there, including Foo Fighters, Social Distortion, Kasabian, The Lovemakers, Sleater-Kinney, Hot Hot Heat, Alkaline Trio, The Bravery, Lyrics Born, Ash, Kaiser Chiefs, Tegan & Sara, Rise Against, MXPX, Dredg, Senses Fail, Every Move A Picture, Jackson United, DJ Z-Trip and a couple other to be named acts.
Disco Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Well, last Friday I saw The Bays in a fairly formal small hall in London normally used for classical concerts (The Queen Elizabeth Hall for those who know it). It was just AWESOME. They are a group of musicians who never reherse together, are on no record label, release no records and have no songs. Their concerts are 90 minutes improvised sets. the idea is that this keeps the music pure from commercialism. As a style it's very much like i90s dance music - trance beats, bits of drum and bass and the like. The drummer Andy Gangadeen is superb. For the drummers out there, he uses no tom as he considers using them will distract people who are locked onto his groove. There are free legal downloads at www.thebays.com, so check it out. you have to give yoru email address, but i have and it's safe - you don't get any spam only the occassional email from them, which you can unsubscribe. it was strange seeing dance music in a formal hall sitting down -it's music for the body so you really have to dance to it. The only people who got up were the old codgers who walked out having not knowng they were about to see a dance act!! Love to you all Disco
