I think Avril is very talented, she writes a lot of good songs and she can grab a guitar and walk on stage alone and entertain a lot of people. I understand people not liking her type of music but for people to not see the talent is amazing to me, it makes me wonder about some folks. Then I hear them talk about the bands they like and think are so great and then I start to understand that some people are just clueless about what talent is. I doubt I'd ever go see Avril live because I'd be in the middle of like 8000 14 year olds, but hell, it's like that for a lot of concerts these days. I feel like an old man no matter who I go see unless it's a clasic band thats been around forever like Rush or someone like that. She writes a lot of catchy songs, and she has a pretty nice voice to boot. In an ERA of music that lacks in my opinion, theres just not a lot of great bands to choose from anymore. Most music these days are just a copy of something else that's already been done 500,000,000,000 times before. People send me songs of new bands and I'm always like "that sounds like blah blah blah"...... Not a lot of original music anymore. If you know of any please let me know, because I usually like good music that has at least a little bit of original thoughts to it, just hard to find thats all. Other than that, the only other show I have coming up is Green Day on the 28th. As for Avril, I'll give her credit for playing her own instrument and wearing clothes, but I just don't care for her music...and the fact that she's written songs with the same people who helped Britney write most of her last album doesn't help her case much either. I think Britney is on her way out, Avril is a musician, to me, Britney is not. I believe Avril wrote a few songs for other artists and they became hits. I doubt Britney will even write songs for herself, let alone other artists. Ya never know though, she might get some songwriting abilities once she becomes a mother lol. No comparison at all. I saw them in 2002...we had $90 seats and they were STILL nosebleeds. They still put on a hell of a show, but it's nothing like seeing them in the 60s or 70s. And I STILL don't see why they need all the horns and backup musicians to play songs that were originally written and arranged ofr a 5-piece guitar-bass-brums rock band.
