GhostGirl
Right. And the thing is, she looks perfectly great in the original! They had to airbrush out her crow's feet, which us "normal" women have...and that tiny little bulge over the top of her sundress in the back? Puh-leeze! Look at how much thinner they made her look for the cover. Even her ARM was made to look thinner. I get so sick of this mentality.

Their bodies have everything a woman should have, IMHO. Some of the skinny ones look like a hairless 8 year old boy from behind - yuck. ...and you know what? I'd much rather be with a woman who can throw back a beer and an ice cream than one who refuses to eat anything other than wheat germ!!! Curvy women rock!!!! 100% agreement. Curvy women look much more healthy and probably have a better attitude since they aren't starving all the time! Damn straight. Women are not supposed to look like 12 year old boys with balloons in their shirts. I can't wait until the anorexic look is out. Curves good! Hail damage bad. Ancient Ways
While I can't agree with SFA completely, I would say that the image of women portrayed in the media is not what I or any of my friends find compelling. We prefer women with curves and their backside should be larger than their breasts and their breasts should be smaller than their head. They should have thighs, a sense of humor and be as comfortable wearing a ball cap and going on a hike as dressing up to go to dinner. What the media calls imperfections are what I see to be the interesting and unique traits that makes each woman special. Give me the before Faith over the after Faith any day of the week. Having majored and worked in the fashion industry before realizing how nasty it was. I need to add my two cents. I think it is both males and females that make women feel they need to be this way. It's an industry built on making women feel they don't look good and need to improve therefore spending money on their products. OK two more cents...When you are younger it is out there too...I see it with preteens and teens...the pressure to look perfect doesn't come from the boys it comes from your girlfriends or other girls in school. It wasn't until I was older that I learned it doesn't matter. If I want a real relationship with a real man, I needed to be real too!
owlswing
I thought I'd add this in here... Yesterday while at our local mall with my daughters I went into the Victoria Secret store...Free VS Signature Cotton panty give away...(make sure your signed up ladies)...well my almost 11 year old is horrified at some of the items and a few of the pictures hanging up asking how and why women could wear some of those things. Well after getting to the less seductive area of apparel...things got better for her...she actually liked some nice things if I do say so my self. ...now we are ready to check out and on line. There are about 5 other women and one man. My 8 year old must have been looking at what everyone was buying because she turns to me and her sister and says...It's the men that like, you know that like all that ruffle stuff...see he's buying it...and points out the only man on line...I think he turned about as red as the little red lace baby-doll and thong set he was about to buy. I had to bite my lip really hard to keep from laughing

If you notice the VS models look just like the models in playboy. Men like to look at women with big boobs. Thanks Hef. Women do pit themselves against each other because they want the mans attention. Ever notice certain women who make you believe they are a good caring friend, put a man in the room and the claws come out. Take out some pictures. She'll be the one in a low cut shiny blouse happily standing by men, and you will be in a concert t-shirt at the edge of the pic at the tractor pull she talked you into going to. It's borderline pornography, and it definately wasn't made for us. How are you supposed to look through it when computer-generated bimbos stare at you, with sultry eyes not meant for you? Why do they have to send this crap to my house?!?!?! The thing is staring at me, and I can feel my self-esteem lowering every time I blink. GeddysMullet
I'm a bit of a tomboy, who has no skill with make-up and prefers to dress for comfort rather than fashion. Thus as a woman, I am virtually invisible. I avoid things like shopping malls and Victoria's Secret because they make me feel like I'm barely even female.
