Hello ladies,

Recently I've been noticing that Video Vertigo is starting to have a 'boys club' vibe. The participation in there is about 80% male. I realize that it is at least partly my fault because when it comes to movies that skew to the female demographic, I tend to gloss over them simply because I'm not that interested in them, preferring instead to focus on comedies and action films ('noisy boy's movies', as my wife calls them). As a conscientous moderator, I am prepared to change that but I thought I'd poll your opinions first. If you think that the forum is good to go as is, then cool. If you'd like to see more focus on movies that skew to the female demographic, let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen. Thanks in advance for your opinions and insights.

-Dave

more blood and fighting and scary shit please

I'm not one for the chick flicks either...suspense-type things are my favorite. And I see plenty of that in VV, Jack.

I appreciate you being so conscious of how we NWW feel. smile.gif

This is prolly totally wrong, dazed025.gif but......

I'm interested in how some of the NWW feel, too.

I think this must be the personality profile of female Rush fans:

No super soppy, mushy chick flicks for us.

Our friends are all very smart and philosophical ( unsure.gif ).

We all feel Video Vertigo is fine just like it is.

Jack Aubrey is cool.

(Funny thing is, my favorite movie of all time is Franco Zefferelli's "Romeo and Juliet." Beautiful interpretation of one of the most amazing love stories of all time. I still get teary when I watch it. And, I've seen it about 50 times. No joke.)

That IS a great movie...back in high school there were those who said I looked like the actress who played Juliet. smile.gif

Me ... it depends on the mood i'm in

if I put on a chick flick it usually means hubby is getting luck tonight,

if we watch a suspense.... i'm getting lucky tonight,

if we watch action or comedy nobody gets it ... we just go to sleep....

never claimed to be normal ... just me

Yeah, I'm not real big on them either^^^. They, for the most part, just make me roll my eyes. If we go to the movies, I usually let my husband pick, knowing he'll pick something we're both into.

I do, however, have a soft spot for Jane Austen 'type' movies....sigh...

I think I'm pretty girly in that respect.. And no, my husband does not partake in them with me, but he doesn't mind because he knows he'll probably get lucky afterwards. laugh.gif
