That's so sad!  ESPN had a really interesting feature on him on 30 for 30 earlier this year- about 3 or 4 hours long.  One of the original hippie type thinkers in the NBA.  In the documentary, his kids were all laughing fondly at Walton's fondness for writing out John Wooden's quotes and motivational pyramid on poster paper and taping them all over the house. Walton could hardly walk in the present day scenes, though, the damage to his body was enormous. He was a really cool player, and so good.  Most people probably know, he was a huge Grateful Dead fan for years and would sit on the side of the stage during concerts.  I guess he will get to see Jerry again now.  Cancer sucks.  RIP to a great guy.

I remember him more in recent years as a broadcaster though I recall how some of my family really thought he was a big deal at UCLA.  Since 2012 when we started watching the PAC12 network , listening to Walton calls games was very entertaining.  I am not a big basketball fan but he made the games fun even when they were boring. Gone too soon RIP:rose:

Celtics won game 4 !   :hockey1:

They will play the Mavericks or the Timberwolves .  Thinking the Mavericks will get it,

I dont think Kyrie Irving will get a warm welcome in Boston !

I sort of remember him at UCLA and some at Portland.  Mostly I remember him with greatest NBA team of all time  -the 1986 Celtics.  A back up but a huge force off the bench.  6th man of the year and comeback player of the year.  A great player (deserves to be in the HOF despite not playing a ton due to injury) but an even better person.  RIP
