Even with Frusciante leaving and coming back again, it’s like he has to leave and recenter himself for a decade and then he’s got a whole new layer o himself to blend with the rest of them.

Segue Myles
Anathema- Weather Systems Mastodon- Emperor Of Sand Epica- Requiem For The Indifferent  Epica's Requiem has often been derided by fans, but if I haven't listened to Epica in a long while, I find it is always the one I first come back too.  As for Anathema, masterful album. Mastodon, likewise.

Gosh, not played it in forever...  ...fun fact, Under The Bridge became a hit when UK girl band All Saints covered it. A very good cover too

Their single Black Coffee is one of the most beautifully produced pop songs I've ever heard.

Segue Myles
Testament- Dark Roots Of The Earth Testament- The Gathering  I discovered Testament after buying a copy of The Gathering. I was a bit confused the first time I played it, thinking "Anneke Van Giersbergen sure sounds angry!"  Turns out The Gathering have no album called Testament.  Oh well. I won by having a new favourite band! This was around 2006. 1

TheAccountant
Worked from home today so I got opened up the moving box again.  First vinyl out:  Woodstock  This is a 3 record set recorded at the festival.  My favorite song?  Richie Havens "Freedom".  2nd favorite?  The Who - "We're Not Gonna Take It".  3rd favorite?  Country Joe McDonald ""I Feel Like I'm Fixin To Die"  4th?  Hendrix - The Star Spagled Banner / Purple Haze.  Their are a few dogs on the album as I don't care for the songs by Sly & The Family Stone but overall its excellent.  Next out of the box:  Jefferson Airplane - The Worst of Jefferson Airplane  A Jefferson Airplane greatest hits album although it only covers their first 6 album (all from the 1960's).  Good stuff.  Last out of the box:  Bob Seger - The Distance  Like most Seger albums this has some awesome songs and then a lot of stuff that is just filler for me.  "Even Now" & "Roll Me Away" are fabulous songs.  When I like a Seger song I really like it.  The rest of the album does nothing for me however. Entre_Perpetuo
Beach day and beach day prep (and sleeping to a few of these on the beach day bus)  RHCP - Return Of The Dream Canteen  oh… actually this is like, the best thing since BTW, just totally rad  RHCP - The Getaway  this has a home in my heart nonetheless  Fugazi - Red Medicine  This album sound more epic when half awake  RHCP - By The Way  Wanted something more peaceful to try to sleep to tho, lol  Pearl Jam - Ten  Screw it, I’m awake now, and the production on this record baffles me more and more as time goes on.  And then I just put on a massive beach inspired playlist I made while I was there.
