We could theoretically save up a few grand for a shit box, using our tax return as a jump start. Rideshares and delivery apps where you use your own personal car do not end up working out very well financially. The average person drastically underestimates how much it truly costs to drive their car per mile, factoring in EVERYTHING. The Doordashes and Ubers of the world prey on this. People think they're making $20+ an hour, but with expenses and taxes factored in, it can end up being well under $10.
