1.5k per month for a studio here, some other minor expenses in addition to that. this is considered "a steal" here :shakehead:

Same with the town in Southern CA that I moved from. :rage: My parents are pretty lucky to pay $2,100 for a 3 bed 2 bath house with a den.

Jacksonville has no jobs or walkability to offer, so we need to gtfo. All the work is in other cities nearby, especially Little Rock, but I don't really want to live in Little Rock.

i know it's no one's favorite option, a lot of the times they're more trouble than they're worth, but hows gig app work over there?

If you have a car, you can do ride-shares and delivery, I think ride-shares will make more money. We don't have a car, though. We could theoretically save up a few grand for a shit box, using our tax return as a jump start. More than likely, we're going to use the tax return money for any possible moving fees after we pay April and May's rent/utilities at our current apartment.

I would caution against that. Rideshares and delivery apps where you use your own personal car do not end up working out very well financially. The average person drastically underestimates how much it truly costs to drive their car per mile, factoring in EVERYTHING. The Doordashes and Ubers of the world prey on this. People think they're making $20+ an hour, but with expenses and taxes factored in, it can end up being well under $10. Chewing through a car by "working" for those companies is not worth it.

I do want to buy a second pistol, small enough caliber that my girlfriend would feel perfectly comfortable using it. A 9mm you're afraid of shooting is way less useful than a .22 revolver that you're willing to keep pulling the trigger on. No criminal ever said "psh, it's only a .22"

Maybe I should go that route. I took my wife to the range, she’s scared to go back.

Did you have her shoot a .45? Giving someone a .45 as their first thing ever to shoot is a good way for them to never want to do it again

Seriously, you can't go wrong with a .22lr or .22magnum revolver. It just works. Get a round that's a dud, being a .22? Keep pulling the trigger, it's a revolver.

The quintessential "get off me" gun.

Unless your wife is kinda macho, don't plan on her ending up liking .380s or any of that shit. Maybe a 9mm if it's a very huge and heavy one to kill the recoil, but then it's a shitty and heavy pistol.

.32acp is also frankly too obscure to recommend

Very true, I went through that when I was a delivery driver for Pizza Hut. $15 an hour plus tips wasn't enough for gas or car maintenance.

Apparently Minneapolis got hit with only a couple bad blizzards this year, which is very odd, and kind of alarming. I'm sure Minneapolis residents were happy with it, but it's not something to celebrate.

Minneapolis has covered pedestrian bridges all over downtown between buildings. You could hit a lot of places there without going outside in winter

Love seeing those Rivian vans!

Service vans are the first vehicles that should be entirely electrified. They’re the best candidates for it.
