goose
The Sixth Sense. Effectively creepy in parts, but mostly dull and the final "reveal" is completely ridiculous when you think about it.Why is it ridiculous?Because it was obvious. Did you also know that Verbal Kint was really Keyser Soze, or that Darth Vader was Luke's father? ;)No, but Sixth Sense just seemed obvious to me. It was not to me and Im glad - friends of mine knew what was happening and were bored the whole time. I watched it a second time and couldnt believe the cues I missed. Some bunghole blabbed the ending to me before I saw it. I’m not sure if I would’ve caught the big reveal or not if i hadn’t known That would have just ruined the whole point, unless, like Columbo, you would have enjoyed it anyway to watch it unfold. That would be me. I've re-watched it several times and enjoyed it each time. I think the premise of the kid seeing and aiding the dead while, of course, being terrified the whole time, is a cool idea and is carried off pretty well. The twist is inconsequential, imo. Before part 4 was released, Toy Story 1-3 was the best trilogy I can think ofOf all films, or animated? Certainly for animated. But I honestly can’t think of a better trilogy even among non-animated films. Alien 3 ruined that trilogy, so that loses. Godfather 3 was the weak link in that trilogy, so that loses. Better than the trilogies for Iron Man, Thor, and Cap. If there is one that’s better, it’s not coming to mind.

Here are my only contenders from that list which may or may not beat Toy Story 1-3... - Dollars...as I stated earlier. Lee Van Cleef being in For A Few Dollars More and TGTBATU as different characters make me not think it’s a trilogy. Dollars might be disqualified from being a proper trilogy...if they’re in then they beat all the competition. - original SW trilogy...the ewoks might be the reason for the SW loss as their role was big (and annoying) in Jedi. Nothing in Toy Story 1-3 was unpleasant. It’s close and I’m somewhat undecided but I lean towards Toy Story. - first 3 Indy Jones...it’s close but some parts especially in Temple of Doom were a little bit too over the top. Still, a very enjoyable flick. Not sure who wins this matchup. I’ll say this though: Toy Story 4, a C+ grade movie, blows away Indy Jones 4. And I agree with the Ewoks dragging down Jedi, and the whole franchise, really, as movies that followed seemed to continue with embedding "cutesy" elements to broaden appeal and attract younger audiences.
