It was a tie between Spinal Tap and Hey Dumbass..., so i picked Hey Dumbass so i could bring to your attention that you forgot Woody Allen's hysterical movie TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN. I still nearly piss myself everytime that movie comes on. Also how can anyone forget HOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS? That movie is classic. Someone in here just recently quoted Newbomb Turk's classic man with five penises joke. But of the movie's mentioned... SPINAL TAP RULES!!!

I had to really think about this one. Some of the movies people chose are great ones - Airplane, The Jerk, History of the World Part 1, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Animal House. I also think Zoolander is absolutely hilarious.

 

In the end though, I had to give it to a comedy of some intelligence, and that means Woody Allen. Of his "early funny ones", my favorite is Love and Death followed by Sleeper, BUT, his absolute funniest movie of all and probably easily my favorite funny movie of all time is:

When I was 8 years old, it broke my heart that this movie (which I'd never heard of at the time) beat out Star Wars for best picture. As I got older, however, I got to see what all the fuss was about. A brilliant and hilarious movie.

In my 'honorable mention' list of comedies, I'd have to include The Party with Peter Sellers and Woody Allen's Take The Money And Run.

 

Oh, I gotta disagree with millions of folks in that I hate Ben Stiller and I don't see why he's considered funny. I can only think of 2 movies where he's tolerable: Reality Bites & There's Something About Mary . To each his own, eh?
