launchpad67a Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Since his death on April 1, there hasn't been 1 post on this forum. Maybe this isn't surprising as he wasn't really a "spotlight" kinda guy. But his contributions to music, film and television are on a level few have ever reached. The guy was a musical genius, a songwriting master, and a top-tier producer. It goes way deeper than just his band, Fountains of Wayne. I am such a huge fan, and his death hit me as hard (maybe harder) than Neil's. Look at all he's done: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Schlesinger Listen to this Album: "Traffic and Weather" by Fountains of Wayne. Then listen to it again. It's a masterpiece, and easily in my top 10 albums of all time. Any other fans out there? 1

None in the MOTS forum. well you did say not one. regardless we are all sad about his passing. in that thread i mentioned starting a musical mass grave as its hard to keep with the musicians passing lately. for instance no thread about manu dibango , who was imo way more influential than adam. also ellis marsalis passed recently too. glad you made this thread . may he RIP Edited April 15, 2020 by tangy 2

I'm not surprised there wasn't a thread for him though. Him and his music didn't come up too often in discussions in that section. So, I guess there weren't too many fans of his on here. I heard about his death when it happened. Very sad indeed but I can't say I knew anything from him outside of the song Stacy's Mom from Fountains Of Wayne.
goose Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 for instance no thread about manu dibango , who was imo way more influential than adam. I had no idea. I used to play Weya over and over and over as a kid. Song is a bad muthfucka... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A4tDEcy0n8
