Duke, down as respectable 6-7 with 3 min in the first half lets Clemson march 70 yards in two minute to stretch the lead to eight points.

Other than that drive, #2 Clemson is unimpressive so far (0-6 on 3rd down conversions).

Of course, good teams adjust. Clemson takes control in the second half.

However, did Notre Dame make a case for taking over the #2 spot today with it convincing win?

Not even close if you look at the body of work over the whole season. Just using one measure, Sagarin going into yesterday's games had Clemson 14 points better than ND, and Syracuse at #32, with the difference between Duke and Syracuse being next to nothing.

The wheels are coming off the Hoosier wagon in the second half.

Michigan pouring it on. It ain't over yet, though.

Some wanker on ESPN Goal Line said Michigan was in "a cliffhanger"

It was somewhere between a cliffhanger and a blowout, not particularly close to either, but the outcome was never really in doubt.

Perhaps nobody but SEC fans care, but with Vanderbilt's win over Ole Miss yesterday the SEC East is 8-5 against the West this year. One game left to play, Missouri from the East against what is clearly the worst team in the SEC this year, Arkansas. Edited by Dread Pirate Robert

Here's hoping for a 10-5 final tally. :)

There must be a script for the televised games, regardless of the teams playing because at some point one of the announcers is going to use "Heisman hopeful/candidate" (news flash, at the beginning of the season, ANY player is a candidate) or "playoff implications" to inject as much hype into the game as possible.

Laugh of the Day: During " The Best Week Ever" on ESPN Radio broadcast yesterday morning, they actually forwarded a possible scenario where UCF makes the playoffs.

Some wild mess where Northwestern takes the Big 10, 2 loss teams win the Big 12 and Pac 12,Georgia wins the SEC, and USC beats Notre Dame.

Or something similar straight outta Bizzaroland.

Perhaps nobody but SEC fans care,

correct

Must really suck to be a Pac 12 fan.

How many years will it take for the Pac 12 to put a team into the playoffs? ;)

The intra-conference games are so enjoyable that the post-season has lost all meaning out here. See last year's collective PAC12 performamce in bowl games as evidence. Clearly the teams just didn't care.

To be fair, the Citadel has never made the playoffs, and they'd be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the SEC, if game results mean anything.

Well, since I don't think you seriously believe what you just wrote, I will make this my reply.

That was cool watching the Apple Cup in a full scale blizzard ... West Virginia has another great season, only to have another terrible November, losing 2 both of the Oklahoma schools in consecutive weeks.

Hoosiers down in the Bucket Game at the half, 14-7.

Meatchickens down to the Bucknuts 21-6 just before half.

Rodent TD, to make it 21-12, then they kick the XP.

an OSU fumbles the kickoff, Rodent ball at the 10 with 45 ticks left.

Rodents score again 21-19; they go for 2, and fail.
