Do women love men with beards or do they prefer a clean shaven guy?

My husband has had a mustache for a long time- he had to compete with some of my favorites! :P I like facial hair as long as it is not TOO long and neatly trimmed. Just me myself, I don't like the stubble thing- it is scratchy and looks sloppy, IMO. I can't understand why it is so popular!

Either is great, just has to be shoulder length or just barely above the shoulders. Boycut's a no-go, but then again I think that's the motive behind the hairstyle a good amount of the time.

Depending on how much you mean by "a good amount of the time", I likely disagree with you.

 

Women that I've known who got their hair cut short generally did it for one of these reasons:

- They thought it'd be comfortable.

- They couldn't be arsed to take care of long hair anymore.

- They saw a short style they thought looked good.

 

Besides, a short haircut doesn't necessarily mean it looks like a "boycut" does it?

 

If you were single (I don't know if you are or not) and some babe with a short haircut were into you, you'd be all over her. Don't lie.

i don't know about women in general, but my wife hates stubble and likes for me to have a vandyke. the big nono for her is a mustache without a beard or a beard without a mustache. also she hates soul patches but she's obviously a hypocrite because she loves geddy!

I don't wear a beard normally...but my mustache covers a scar I got in a car crash back in Dec. 1977 my upper lip hit the "OH SHIT!!!" bar above the glove compartment in a '64 'Baby shit brown' Volkswagen, and my upper inscisors almost cut off my upper lip...8 stitches.I had a mustache at the time, and except for one time I shaved it in the eighties, since. Not getting rid of it. My first wife and second wife both approved.

My experience has been that men can get a whole lot of emotion tangled up in a woman's hair. I have red hair reaching almost to my knees, and I find that it garners attention from older men in particular. A number of them have claimed to seldom see women with long hair anymore ( ), and they often take the opportunity to reminisce about the past. Sometimes their stories are interesting, and sometimes they're heartbreaking.

 

One elderly gentleman implored me to never cut my hair since "a man will always be faithful to a woman with long hair." (If only that were true )

 

Perhaps the most heartbreaking story happened when I was on vacation, standing at a body of water with my hair blowing in the wind. I stood there for ages as it's my favourite place and I was overcome, then I noticed a man watching me. When I was through with my moment and turned to leave, he started a conversation by complimenting my hair. Apparently it reminded him of his late wife's long, red hair; he apologized for watching but said he never thought he'd get to see "her" hair again. She had loved a spot near to my favourite one but he didn't like the trip from their home, so they rarely visited. He told me that since her death, he'd cycled through there every day. That man was filled with loneliness and regret, but he said that watching my hair blowing wildly while I looked out over the water really helped him in terms of reconciliation. Hopefully it did--I've since returned there several times over the years without seeing him.
